This black and white documentary follows Ewa from Witunia and other girls from Poland, who work at Kabelwerk Oberspreee in Berlin since about a year. The movie tries to find out how the young women feel living in the GDR, working with their german colleagues. Ewa is critical and tries to fight widely spread prejudices about Polish and German people alike and she also speaks out about injustices at work.

Captain Jeff Barlow is a pilot with heart and soul. On behalf of a French company, he dares to conduct an experiment that is not without danger: dry ice is to be shot into clouds over the Sahara to make them rain down. The aim is to put an end to the water shortage. However, the artificial rain project is anything but harmless. But Captain Barlow is far too passionate an aviator to be deterred by the danger. And so what has to happen, happens. A sandstorm is Barlow's undoing and he crashes his plane. Lost in the vastness of the Sahara, there is no trace of him. A search operation is launched but is unsuccessful. A race against time begins for Barlow, as his water supplies are running low...

Claudia von Alemann filmed the co-founders of the Black Panther Party, Kathleen and Eldridge Cleaver, in exile in Algiers, on her own. Their filmed statements were intended for a solidarity campaign in West Germany for the release of Ericka Huggins and Bobby Seale, their Black Panther friends.

In a post-war village, children and young people come together to form a gang to do justice their own way. They go astray, commit crimes and have to realize that the 'objective chance to change life' does not necessarily coincide with their own subjective views and their implementation.

The Krautrock band Lokomotive Kreuzberg set itself the goal of combining music with trade union activism. From 1972 to 1977, it toured Germany with cabaret and songs such as ‘Solidaritätslied’ (The Solidarity Song) ‘Lohnpredigt’ (Wages Sermon) or ‘Geldsack’ (Moneybags). The film shows recordings of rehearsals, performances, and political discussions with the audience. The musicians describe their careers from classical music training to political rock.

The inventor Sir Claude Amery wants to give the thief of the formula for his latest invention the chance to return it in the dark without being recognized. He gathers everyone in the house in the library and has the lights switched off for a short time. When the light comes back on, Amery is dead. A case for the Belgian master detective Hercule Poirot.

A worker is sitting at a conveyor belt on which light bulbs are coming in at regular intervals. He takes the light bulbs from the conveyor belt and inserts them into a testing device. The light bulbs light up briefly and bathe the scene in glistening light. The worker puts the light bulb back on the conveyor belt, looks directly into the camera and shouts against the noise of the machines: "We create wealth."

In 1914 Berlin, bank heiress Leonore Wahl and struggling Munich student Werner Bertin fall passionately in love, defying class and her parents’ expectations. Their idyll is shattered by the outbreak of WWI: Werner, swept up in patriotic fervor, is conscripted to the Western Front, while Leonore, pregnant and abandoned, faces her family’s condemnation and a clandestine abortion. Set against the tumult of war, the film explores idealism, social divides, and the personal costs of duty and desire.

Two young oil salesmen from Hamburg, who are tasked with buying oil from the Middle East as cheaply as possible for their company, get caught up in a clash between a local gang of drug smugglers and the police. Each stage of this dangerous adventure could earn them either twenty years in prison or liquidation by the gang. The appearance of a beautiful, somewhat enigmatic woman adds to the allure. Two middle-class existences in a foreign country, confronted with the rude methods of the police and criminal elements, form the field of tension in this adventure story, which was produced with an international cast.

In a critique to the Berliner films that depicted labour problems always through masculine lens, Sander changes the point of view. Irene, single mother, works in a washing machine factory and has to deal with discrimination, sexual harassment and lack of solidarity.

Following the run of the water from well to ocean

Willi Winzig is a small tax officer with a big heart. He sometimes lets the tax files of his insolvent fellow citizens disappear into the air shaft. But shortly before his retirement, the shaft is so full that Willi has to dispose of the file of a penniless taxpayer in the wastepaper basket. The scam is promptly discovered and Willi is threatened with a hefty fine - even dishonorable dismissal from the civil service. Fortunately, friend and colleague Felix Klein knows what to do.

"As a contribution to Gerry Schum's 'Identifications', Beuys adapted for television the 'Felt TV' action previously staged for a live audience at a Happening festival in Copenhagen in 1966. It was the only Beuys action executed specifically for the camera. It opens with Beuys seated in front of a TV set showing a programme which is invisible because the screen is covered by felt. The boxing-gloves used later in the action lie at the ready beneath his chair."

In the small town of Bumshausen live three friends: a baker, a butcher and a hairdresser. When a sex movie is shown for the first time in the local cinema, the three men are motivated to seek sexual experiences. However, they have to face their wives and their strict bosses (who constantly monitor the behavior of their subordinates).

Paris is a monstrously inhuman cityscape, in which cars, buses, crowds, and unceasing noise combine to smother any decent and delicate human activity. People and flowers attempt to survive in a city that seems ready to explode from an over-heated mixture of traffic and noise.

Short film about mopeds

A cinematic interpretation and literary adaptation of a text by Charles Baudelaire. "I had intended that each of the roughly 60 shots would be static, without even the imperceptible correction pans normally used in such cases. Every shot was to be a tangent, of which one must put an infinite number around a circle if it is to be calculated incrementally. One cannot represent a circle with straight shots, the most one can do is make it imaginable – this could be a righteous insight into the limitations of our means, although hopefully not self-righteously presented."

Hans, a boy with a thirst for reading and knowledge, sets out with his horse Robert to redeem an enchanted castle. His cleverness and fearlessness allow him to triumph over the spirits and break the spell.

Andy is mistaken for Eva at the girls' boarding school and treated sternly by principal Schatz but loved by his co-eds. To get Andy out of 'her' skirt Andy's pal Rudi has to dress up as Eva's mom to convince Schatz to release 'her'.

The trusted guys Jupp and Erwin once again turn the coal pot upside down. When they share their war experiences at a pub evening, the whole thing ends in a wild brawl. To Erwin's chagrin, Lucky's Italian relatives show up, who want to marry the canteen owner's daughter. The wedding celebrations turn out quite differently than planned.

The broker Erich arrives with his prostitute at an apartment, already populated by three men. Abusive games, dancing and flirting occur. Things eventually degenerates completely.

A ship, a bus, a pastor, a businessman and a lot of alcohol.

This movement marks the beginning of modern art in Germany. It is the German equivalent of French Fauvism, from which it draws its main inspiration, but it carries an Expressionist and social emphasis that is characteristic of Nordic 'angst.' The artists of Die Brucke were restless creatures, over-sensitive, haunted by religious, sexual, political or moral obsessions. Dramatic landscapes and nudes, mystical and visionary compositions, scenes of the countryside, the streets, the circus, the cafe-dansants and the demi-monde were their principal subjects. Their pure colours blaze in acid stridency, encompassed by rough, dry contours which show the influence of African art and primitive woodcuts. The work of the following is shown: Kirchner, Fritz Bleyl, Erich Heckel, Schmidt-Rottluff, Otto Muller, Emil Nolde and Max Pechstein.

The film addresses the failure of the individual in anonymous urban society. The film begins as men attempt to break out of their anonymity and reveal themselves. In doing so, they encounter social rules that are not suited to them. The film asks how men can survive in a chaotic city by remaining silent.

Through a series of farcical and exaggerated situations, Loriot brilliantly mocks the pomp and circumstance of opera while showcasing his signature dry humor and love for absurdity. Noch 'ne Oper is a sharp and witty satire of high culture’s often ridiculous nature.
