The film deals with an imigrant woman from southern Italy, who lives in Frankfurt in the 1970s. Unusual about this film is the way of the storytelling. The original plan was to make a documentary, but none of the female protagonists were willing to be seen in front of the camera. The fear to expose their own family was too big. The law of “omerta” exists in the diaspora as well. A southern italian proverb states: “The girls greatest value is her beauty - the womans greatest value is her silence”. For this reason, in the film only the sound of Maria M. from Basilicata, can be heard. She remains anonemous. In the movie, southern italian emigrants act in Maria's story. In fact, they end up playing themselves, which gives the film several layers and adds a refreshing sense of humor.

Sonia cares more about her job than her husband, so much that he leaves her. From this moment on she changes partner every day, without ever reaching sexual pleasure. With her friend she gets back with her ex, and starts spying on him while he has sex.

Urca (Renato Pozzetto), a young man living in the mountains of Lombardy, takes off with his hang glider to go to finally see the sea. During the voyage flying over Milan, but just as he was admiring the city from an attack of coughing and is forced to crash-land in the San Siro stadium. He discovers the city that his elderly mother had recommended to avoid at all costs, falling in love also noting its strengths and its shortcomings.

Two decades after their first "big deal" landed them in jail, the original gang of Italian thieves is back in action. At the beginning of the eighties, Sirio, a young worker of the Terni steelworks with a past in student protesting, decides to abandon his job to join an extreme left-wing group. Although he declares himself contrary to the armed struggle following the decision by some elements of the group to carry out terrorist actions, he is arrested upon being caught with his best friend Apache.

Filmed for Rai 3 and aired on two evenings on 29 March and 5 April 1986, A train in the heart of the south is a journey that follows the "marginal" railways of the south and the marginalized who are found along them. Filmmakers and travelers Anna Lajolo and Guido Lombardi reveal the confined and marginalized Italy that has nothing in common with the glossy images of the 1980s. As always with the couple of filmmakers born on the wave of underground cinema, the filmed space is a conflictual space, which "fists with reality".

The sixteen-year-old Giulia, daughter of a successful writer and painter, leaving the college, spends her holidays in the family's villa, at the seaside, with a group of friends of her age. One day he arrives at the villa Paolo, a colleague of Giulia's father, who has to complete a screenplay with him. The girl decides with cold determination to entrust precisely to Paul the "task" to "free her" of virginity, thus beginning a skilful maneuver of priming. At the same time, Giulia's mother falls in love with Paolo, and just when he decides to declare his love, he is rejected by the young man, who is now entangled by the sixteen year old. At the end Giulia, having achieved her goal - declaring however, immediately afterwards, repentant - unloads Paolo and returns to her peers.

Domenico, known as Mimì, must prove to his parents that he is not impotent and homosexual, only this way will he be able to unlock himself and receive the rich family heritage.

Isaac has separated parents, attends third grade, and soon befriends two classmates, Fiorello and Gabriel. All three want to leave with the circus, but on the appointed day, Gabriel is assigned by his mother to take care of his newborn sister, Fiorello hears his brother's recommendation of his parents, and Isaac sees his daddy coming off the train.

La Fanciulla del West, Puccini's penultimate opera is based on a play by David Belasco set at the height of the notorious California gold rush. The composer took three years to complete the work, which, for him, marked a new stylish departure. With more modern harmonic combinations and local melodies, Puccini pieced together a far larger canvas than anything he had tackled before. In this recording, Piero Faggioni's highly detailed staging is matched by Ken Adam's superbly atmospheric sets. Carol Neblett sings the role of Minnie "The Girl of the Gold West," Placido Domingo is as ignitable as ever in the role of Dick Johnson, alias the bandit, Ramirez, and Silvano Carroli sings the sinister sheriff, Jack Rance.
