Petits animaux, miracles de la nature
This exclusive documentary recounts the crazy project of Nazi Germany which secretly gave birth to Aryan children as far as France. In these maternities for the rich called the ‘Lebensborn’, the Nazis raised ‘perfect’ children born of progenitors from the SS and women with well defined racial grounds. This plan gave birth to thousands of children who were called ‘Hitler's Children’. They were supposed to lead the world one day. It wasn’t until 30 years later that the existence of one of these centers in France was discovered. For the very first time, the children born in the ‘Lesenborn’ in Lamorlaye find out about their existence and disclose one the most frightening plans of History, as well as the dark secret of their origins.

For many, the world is divided between men and women. But what about intersex people who do not fit into either category? Since Vincent Guillot, as an adult, discovered the word that defines him —intersexual – he has never stopped looking for people like him in an urgent quest to understand himself. The German women artist Ins A Kromminga realised that she was different as a teenager. Born and raised as a girl, her body began to acquire male characteristics in puberty. Her eloquent drawings speak of the trauma that is inflicted on intersex people. With joyful determination and a great sense of humour, the characters in Régine Abadia’s documentary fight for the emancipation of a minority that is invisible and beaten and bruised by life. Their problem: medicine, which intervenes not only to treat, but also to adapt bodies to rigid female or male norms.

Frans Masereel is one of the most fascinating Belgian artists of the 20th century. His work, essentially composed of black and white engravings, is a cry of rebellion against the tragedies of his time. Forced into exile for his pacifist convictions, he embodied, alongside writers like Stefan Zweig and Romain Rolland, the dream of a cultural and brotherly Europe. Through an imaginary correspondence the director addresses to the artist, the film sketches the portrait of a free, touching man who, throughout his life, attempted to break free of art dealers and put his creations in the hands of all.

In the early 90s, a mysterious muscular disease with symptoms that included severe muscle and joint pain began to surface among multiple patients in France. Featuring interviews with patients, doctors, scientists, and influential politicians, Injecting Aluminum calls in to question the public health policies around aluminum in vaccines and examines aluminum's devastating effects on the human body.

This project was born when I discovered a letter that my mom had written to a friend before her death. The attention she felt there, its simple and colorful form, which supports a text filled with emotions, memories, fears, but above all with hope and joy, deeply marked me. Between reality, memories and songs, around this letter which puts into images the inner journey that her writing must have led her to make, this fiction plunges us into the reflection that the announcement of the disease awakened in her...

Throughout this day nothing happens as both pictured this reunion. Louisa, the young model, will also be a catalyst for all their moods. Who will win from this experience? Agnès Varda chose to focus on the hanging mobile Vertical Foliage (1941), which she came across during a visit to the Calder Foundation in New York. In When Sandy Dreams, Varda melds footage of the sea and the mobile in motion with photographs she took in 1952 of Calder on the beach in the south of France. “I put these images together thinking of how the slight wind on the beach would move the mobile,” says Varda. In doing so, she bridges admiration for her old friend with her powerful connection to the ocean—a common motif in her visual art and the vessel through which she looked back on her life in the 2008 documentary The Beaches of Agnès.
