Magazine reporter Yoon Soo delivers newspapers every dawn to help his older brother, Young Soo, who manages a newspaper branch office. One foggy morning, he noticed Jung Hyo sitting at a park bench and became interested in her. One day, while interviewing a museum curator, he was happy to run (bump) into Jung Hyo accidentally, but was disappointed when she did not seem to recognize him. After running into her at the park several times, he realized that Jung Hyo suffered from sleepwalking. Despite that Yoon Soo's feeling for Jung Hyo is getting deeper.

One day, 'I' request an interview with 'Him' whom I had loved in vain for a long time in the old days. Although I record his words and see his face through my camera, I don't really listen or look at him. As he tells his story, I'm remembering the past. After the interview, I take out my worn and rusty passion and blow it away with ease.

Peace in Me

Form, it has always existed somewhere or infiltrated, regardless of will. Somewhere, this place is simply a space where life and death cannot be measured.

Working at the super-supermarket Homever occupied the Worldcup Stadium store. It was the first sit-in at a retailer led by women, who were until them leading ordinary lives. The originally-planned 2-day 1-night strike went on for 21 days. During the sit-in, they enjoyed temporary freedom and happiness, free from work and housework. Their struggles became the epitome of struggles of casualised women workers. However, there was no easy solution.

Kyoung-sook, who runs a cigarette shop, is secretly learning to dance. Dancing is prohibited and people are arrested. She barely escapes with the help of a man's voice.

"Something to Do before Dying" chronicles the humdrum life of Su-yeon, a typical 20-something Seoulite who hates her job and her life, deciding one day to throw it all away by committing suicide. Over the course of a single day, we follow her as she prepares herself. This low-budget indie was shot on video, giving it a home movie-like quality that enhances the reality of what transpires on the screen.

Anti-narrative experimental film, “1998” was filmed from Feb. through OCT. 1998. In different locations(Beriln, Paris, Daegu, Oksan) and out of the filmed reel, 15 short films were edited and screened at 16 frame/sec and 9 sec. at 24 frame/sec). The film mostly about family, family related places, unfamiliar sceneries that were seen while taking a walk with a friend, scenes of my hometown, Daegu, airport and streets of Paris while transiting a flight to Korea life of Berlin.

By honestly expressing the sex and love of disabled people and their various sexual experiences and needs, Pink Palace hopes to show that the needs felt by them are no different from the ones.

A bottari is a traditional Korean wrapping cloth used to carry belongings, a way of ‘wrapping luggage with a cloth.’ When people need to move, they pack their most precious items in a bottari While on the move, a bottari carries material things, we carry memories, thoughts, and sentiments. Perhaps we could be somewhat of a bottari, constantly on the move.

Synchronic and diachronic figures and texts are mutually connected, at the same time, however conflict each other. The figures and texts reveal what are visual, objective, and real. Images on the film, which is the most basic material in cinematography, are like words and symbols in language in that they are also part of the material. Visual symbols and written language need to be intertwined to visualize images. Evoking vitality in cinematography, long-term effort and language play a dual role in movies.

A man addicted to gambling loses his job and leaves his family. He lives at a 24-hour open sauna away from debt collectors, while borrowing money left and right to keep his habit going. When he finally gets the upper hand at a poker game, a police raid spoils his good fortune. He sees a driver sleeping in a truck with his wallet hanging out of his pocket. Struggling to keep his 'moral integrity', the man kills himself rather than commit the robbery.

After 20 years of inactivity due to political reasons, he returned to Korea on May 2001 for a concert. This film reveals his vision of music and his lonely life as a bohemian. He tells us the meaning of eternal loneliness, confessing that, 'Life is fragile, and I am just glad to be alive'.

In Kimsooja’s A Needle Woman there is no spoken conversation, but we see a woman standing straight and immobile like a needle amid the hubbub of a city. Silent interactions between the woman and passersby who notice and gaze at her seem to represent unspoken dialogue between differing entities.

Three friends (Yeon-soo, Hyun-kyung, and Jung-min) meet at a cafe. Yeon-su confides to the two about her love affair with Seung-wook. Seung-wook, who had been dating for several months, suddenly announced that they had broken up, and although he was suffering from Seung-wook's change of mind that he couldn't understand, he decided to accept it. Jung-min is very confused. Because she knows that Jung-min is dating Seung-wook, and that the relationship between the two has grown apart. A few days later, Yeon-soo and Hyeon-gyeong witness Jeong-min and Seung-wook walking arm in arm on the street.

The film follows the lives and aims of the people of Gyehwa Island whose livelihood depends upon the sea. The Seamangeun Reclamation changes the social fabric of the communities - and various factions struggle both against the government and each other. One such conflict arises, for example, between the shellfish farmers and the ship owners over questions of compensation for the reclaimed land. On its part, the government proves to be both insensitive to the positions of the islanders and deliberately divisive.

Time to Remove Superman It is fragmentarily a story of death and it can also be connected to the opposite - birth. When I did research for this work, what was really interesting was an article read that 'We came from dirt and we go back to dirt' is everywhere in all religions and philosophies of all cultures. And I found that sentence and thought over different things and I reached it was meant to be only that way. Regardless of primitive or modern society, religions or philosophies couldn't help but think human body is rotten away and it is cremated and made dirt. We know the process but we haven't seen that. I thought it would be meaningful if I made that out to show. We've watched a mummy disappearing in a movie using CG but I thought I could visually display a message that things we cherished or in which knowledge was contained were made dirt or on the other way, they had been dirt before they came to us.

At night it’s raining outside. Mom, Dad and Ji-soo are watching TV with anxious. The news report the fire at the kindergarten, where the little daughter goes to. Her name is on the dead list. The family moans about her death… then the girl appears at the door.

Mi-ja leaves her son O-hun at her brother Yeon-ho's home and vanishes. Since being unwillingly left with O-hun, Yeon-ho hears news that her mother Mi-ja is in Paju city. He searches for her there, but to no avail. On his father's memorial day, Mi-ja comes back with a strange man.

Dangerous Supplement is an incomplete index for the memory, a substitute for a vision that is yet to be born.' The film begins with a damaged landscape, an invisible landscape. All the images/places are metaphorically flawed or incomplete, being lost as fast as you can see them. They tip heavenwards or they fall to earth. (Mark LaPore)
