This adaptation of the storyboard L’amore è un lepidottero (1941) by Italian artist and experimental filmmaker Bruno Munari contrasts dreamy melodrama set against the backdrop of war with the giallo aesthetics of Italian slasher films. The result is a rapid collage that combines computer animation, improvised shots, archival material, and images generated by artificial intelligence. Each element speaks a different visual language, but together they create a paradoxical “handmade” aesthetic in which technology clashes with nostalgia.

The Great Together

The Great Together examines the future of Europe’s modernist estates in a time of acute housing crisis. As demolition loses its appeal, cities are rethinking how to care for, adapt and eventually celebrate their modernist heritage. The film’s title is a free translation of the French Grand Ensemble, a term that once evoked collective ambitions and architectural utopias. Today, these estates stand at the crossroads. Through four case studies, in Rome, Toulouse, Belgrade and Vienna, introduced by a single local voice, the film charts four different ways to deal with modernist mass housing: transformation, demolition, privatisation, and long-term maintenance.

FULL of COLOR

Over the past few years, I've collected hundreds of anonymous home movies. Many are fascinating, but the ones spliced in this work are not. Every time I'd inspect these films in the editor and come across those boring and banal tourist shots of cities, their buildings and monuments, I'd cut them away and set them aside. I tried to erase every trace of them so I could paint undisturbed, but every now and then, remnants emerge. "FULL of COLOR" is a lively and vibrant work, definitely less blue than my first hand-painted filmwork, "GIRLAND '81".

Love

Karma is less of a survivor than an apparition—an afterimage that persists in a landscape that has been abandoned by humanity. She traverses the remnants of a civilization that has perished, where the Earth has reverted to a primordial battlefield where the great archetypes continue to clash. Or, it is possible that she is a forgotten divinity, reclaiming a domain of collapsed mines, rust-freckled sacrificial altars, and wind-tossed drifts of fabric that have been shed by billions of vanished bodies. She transforms into a living panopticon that fractures the surrounding ruin into a thousand recursive reflections, enveloped in a mantle of mirrored fragments.

(Don't) Breathe a Word

Four people from North and South Tyrol courageously speak about their sexual abuse. While one protagonist’s abuse revelations triggered an avalanche back in 2017, others are breaking their silence in public for the first time. The documentary shows that abuse happens everywhere – in the sporting world, at church, at home. With great care, the director follows these four brave individuals as they describe the traumatising events, shame and speechlessness they have experienced, at the same time showcasing the resilience and dignity with which they have reclaimed their lives after the abuse.

Monster Manual

An ancient terror rises from the Monster Manual: the Mind Flayer, a dark creature able to dominate minds and devour the dreams of every sentient being. Between epic atmospheres and playful pop incursions, an audacious bard and a band of unlikely heroes face its psionic horror in a whirlwind of battles, illusions, and surreal comedy. A journey between myth and parody that turns the multiverse’s most feared monster into the protagonist of a story as unsettling as it is irresistible.

Extremely Romantic

We don’t know the names of the two main characters (he and she), probably they don’t know each other much either, we see them sitting on a sofa with a blindfold on so as not to see the light of the truth. A neglected couple, (almost always) aseptic dialogues apparently with weakened emotions, but their words highlight doubts, fears, sexual desires and other intentions/nuances. Even the spectator sees and does not see what happens, between truth and lie. There is a great indecision: the choice to see or not see reality.
