Things That My Best Friend Lost

A dark night is lit up with the fluorescent colours and metallic sounds of an illegal party. Andrea, the organiser and DJ, confesses his joys and turmoils through a series of increasingly delirious voice messages addressed to someone far away. It is Andrea’s solitary cry for help: as we uncover his relationship with the listening ghost, he narrates his human experiences at the clandestine rave. In a reality where policing and punishment go hand in hand, a party suspended in space and time inflames the city, setting free the bodies we inhabit. In this new day and age can we still find ways to connect with each other or are we alone even when we are together?

Set in a fictional society, Life Chronicles of Dorothea Ïesj S.P.U. is an audio-diary that follows the adventures of researcher Dorothea as she extracts (and resells) sounds from the past. The film consists of a single voice narration over a sequence of dark backgrounds with Italian and English subtitles. Backgrounds and titles are entirely shot from movable type prints. No other image is present in the film. The screenplay is written in a language that mixes old and contemporary Italian, and integrates excerpts from literature, poetry and essays.

APATIA

Apatheia is a project born this year, a work that combines the passion for cinema with that of other arts: music, painting, photography. It is an experimental work that is very close to our hearts, despite its simplicity, inexperience and the minimal equipment used. What we wanted to show is one of the many problems that afflict young people that can lead to extreme actions, which are talked about less and less. We didn't want to amaze or demonstrate, we wanted to show -quoting Fellini-. We wish you a good viewing, hoping you appreciate it! Happy viewing! The Apatheia crew.

Dreamers

In a grey society which, owing to an excessive consumerism, is losing its moral and spiritual principles, and in which a Church that struggles to renew itself no longer has a role of reference, what can we do to bring about a positive change? “Dreamers” addresses a topic that is as current as it is thorny, using an allegorical and at the same time genuine language. Matteo, a homosexual boy with an autism spectrum disorder, and Lorenzo, the guide who accompanies us on this journey, offer us their point of view and their constructive testimony. Maybe there still remains a small seed of hope.

Corto Franco II

A series of slides alternating with short animations evokes the digital aesthetics of the early 2000s. The messages, blending audiovisual and literary language, playfully mock the romantic communication forms of the blog era while maintaining an underlying sincerity and truth. The author aims to communicate in a style that mixes nostalgia and the grotesque, playing with contrasts between a light tone and the authenticity of the emotions expressed, offering a reflection on how the expression of feelings has evolved in the digital age.
