Industrial Animals is a very small film in almost every measurable metric. Weighing in at roughly 61 minutes, this low budget, found footage film from the UK features a cast of just three people who also cover many of the behind the scenes credits as well. In fact, the entire story takes place over a three-day span, mostly in one simple setting. But while all of the factors add up to a “small” film, when all is said and done, Industrial Animals ends up packing a fairly strong and somewhat unexpected punch.

The film follows Benjamin Sadd (a filmmaker) and James Trundle (an artist) as they travel to the Ecuadorian Amazon to build a canoe from scratch, then travel alone through the rainforest. The journey builds on their 10 year friendship in this isolated and offen challenging environment, testing their relationship as they struggle to deal with the conditions and the complexity of the issues that surround this part of the Amazon Rainforest.

The two volumes of Bach’s The Well-Temperd Clavier together represent one of Western music’s greatest achievements. Once described as the ‘Old Testament’ of the keyboard repertoire, these two sequences of 24 Preludes and Fugues – one in every key – represent a wealth of musical invention, ingenuity and delight. A supreme technical challenge for any performer, they also offer an astonishing experience for every listener. Eminent Bach specialist Sir András Schiff, whose discography includes Bach’s complete keyboard repertoire, here performs Book I – embarking upon a cycle that he will conclude next year with Book 2.
