Shyamala

Some producers from Andhra wanted to produce a tamil film featuring MKT. They produced Syamala in 1953 with MKT in the lead role. MKT and S.S.Koko were the only tamilians in this film. Rest of them were all from Andhra. Popular among them were Relangi and S.Varalakshmi. MKT for the first and last time in his life acted with a moustache and resembled very much the famous telugu screen hero, A.Nageswara rao! Shyamala is a 1952 Indian, Tamil-language film directed by B. A. Subba Rao.[2] The film featured M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and S. Varalakshmi in the lead roles.

Kamla lives a poor lifestyle in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, India, along with her widowed dad, Dinanath, who works as an Accountant with Sarpanch Journal, and two younger brothers, college-going Kumar, and school-going 12 year old brother, Kishore. Dinanath's main aim is to get Kamla married to her lover, wealthy Prem, and ensure that Kumar and Kishore get a proper college education. When Dinanath's eyesight becomes very weak, he starts making errors, and loses his job. He does manage to persuade his employer, Laxmidas, to hire Kumar once he gets his degree in Arts. On the day of the results, Kumar has an accident and passes away, a devastated Dinanath bangs his head, injures himself, is hospitalized, recovers but loses his vision completely. As a result, Kamla's wedding is canceled, Prem reluctantly gets married to Shyama; while Kamla gets a job and starts to look after her dad and Kishore.

Mudhal Thedhi

Sivagnanam is a humble bank clerk, living a modest life with his wife Lakshmi and their children. Although his salary is low, he handles large sums of money at the bank. When the bank collapses, Sivagnanam loses his job and, feeling desperate, considers suicide so that his family can benefit from his life insurance. However, his soul reaches the court of Yama, the god of death. Angered by his reckless act, Yama sends him back to Earth to witness the consequences of his death. Unable to intervene, Sivagnanam watches as his son is arrested for stealing food, his daughter is assaulted, and his wife, after killing the rapist, drowns herself in a well.

During the days of the Vijayanagara Empire there was a system to bring willing women to the royal palace and render them official residents. This was called 'Rani Vasam'. According to this royal tradition, they sent palanquins to their houses, after they presented the family with gifts and jewelry. These Rani Vasam women should never have any contact with any man or let any man see them without permission. If any one violated the law, they were beheaded. Malleswari (Bhanumathi) was taken to this Rani Vasam. She was forced to accept this, for lure of money and jewelry by her parents. But she was already in love with her 'Bava' Nagaraju (N.T. Rama Rao), a sculptor. He stealthily got into the garden of the palace to meet his beloved and was caught. He was to get the death penalty. Krishnadevaraya for once pardoned the hero and allowed Malleswari to go with him.

Sundari is a stage dancer and singer, a flirt, quarrelsome, and generally up to no good. She meets with Havaldar Pritam, and both are attracted to each other. Circumstances force Pritam to arrest Sundari for viciously assaulting another woman, but he lets her escape, and is severely reprimanded by the Kotwal. Sundari feels sorry for him. She meets with the Kotwal and pleads with him to forgive Pritam, which he does. Pritam is grateful to Sundari for saving his career, and both continue to romance each other. What Pritam does not know that Sundari belongs to a gang of thieves, the leader of which is her long-time boyfriend, currently in prison, a notorious gangster by the name of Rahu.

Maaya Rambha

Narada, sensing Rambha’s attempt to disrupt a rishi’s penance, provokes her vanity and orchestrates events that humiliate her on Krishna’s birthday by honoring Kalavathi and Vidyadhara as a dance pair. Though bound by rivalry and jealousy, Vidyadhara and Kalavathi fall in love and meet secretly. Nalacoobra, driven by desire, spies on them, deceives both through disguises, and causes Vidyadhara to believe Kalavathi is unfaithful. Heartbroken, Vidyadhara leaves Dwaraka, and Kalavathi sets out alone to find him. Nalacoobra repeatedly pursues and tries to violate her, while Rambha, cursed by Indra and blinded by jealousy, plots Kalavathi’s death. Kalavathi endures storms, deception, and exile, yet remains devoted. Ultimately, Rambha manipulates Kalpalika, a fanatic devotee, into preparing Kalavathi’s sacrifice at the Bhubaneshwar temple in pursuit of divine power.

Patita

Radha earns a living begging in order to support herself and her crippled and ailing father. They live in a small tenement, under the constant threat of eviction by their landlord for unpaid rent for several months. One day, while begging, Radha meets a young man, Nirmal Chander, who would like to see her improve her status by getting employment, he even goes to the extent of assisting her find work in a mill. He subsequently invites her over to meet his mother, and asks her to marry him, to which she agrees. Nirmal also seeks the permission of her dad. When he goes to get her to make arrangements for their marriage, he finds her and her dad gone.

Kankal is a social horror drama which shows how a spirit can fulfil its desire with its intense power. The story begins with Abhay being killed by a skeleton and police come for the inspection. Dr. Sanyal takes us back to the story where Tarala got married to Rattan, a rich man. But Tarala's sister-in-law's brother, Abhay was in love with Tarala whom Tarala didn't like for his bad attitude and lower education. So to take the revenge, Abhay married Rattan's sister. By moulding Rattan, Abhay took all his wealth and tried to rape Tarala. Though Rattan came to save her, he was being driven out by Abhay. In this situation Tarala passes away unknowingly and Abhay tried to hide her dead body by throwing it in the river. Rattan unable to find his wife became mad and roamed around in search for her.

Navrang

Diwakar is a poet and loves his wife Jamuna on everything. But Jamuna does not agree that Diwakar lives out of sheer poetry in a fantasy world and the real world less and less responsible. Diwakar goes so far that he is a fantasy woman in his wife's body creates what he calls Mohini. Diwakar will soon become a recognized poet and Jamuna gives birth to a boy. Unfortunately, the happiness does not last long: Diwakar loses his job because of a critical songs against the British. Now he can no longer feed his sickly father nor his son, who is starving. All this makes Jamuna angry, but above all Diwakars growing obsession with Mohini. As Jamuna decides to live apart from Diwakar, it is destroyed internally and no longer capable of proof. Jamuna slowly realizes that she can not live without Diwakar and forgives him.

Sonar Harin

Jayanta Chowdhury, a ground engineer, is gravely injured and is received by his fiancé, Kuntala who takes care of him. However, Jayanta is not at peace as he suspects a conspiracy. He returns to Kolkata, much to Kuntala’s dismay, and starts following another ground engineer Sandeep Mukherjee, who he believes has betrayed his employer. Jayanta gets together with the Intelligence Officer Ranjit Mitra and traces Sandeep’s whereabouts. Sandeep is actually involved with the criminals Krishn Chand and Abdullah who force him to plant a bomb on an international flight. Sandeep, rather unwillingly, gives in as he needs money to treat his handicapped younger brother. Although he loves a girl named Ruby, he is unable to marry her for the same reason. Jayanta takes up the name of Arun Roy and befriends Sandeep to learn more about him. And the plot thickens.
