UNDER THE RED MOUNTAIN: CHIFENG AND FURTHER NORTH documents a hitchhiked, trained and walked journey from Shanghai to the city of Chifeng and then from there, further north into Mongolia. From oral history and old movies, we track down the details of the past, mixed with romance and sorrow, prosperity and impermanence.
