Their younger brother Alfonso, who will join them in 1898 with a Pathé camera, will be one of the pioneers of Cinema, the first to shoot films in Brazil. In a short time, at first selling newspapers and living by their wits, the brothers will become successful entrepreneurs, founding newspapers, amusement parks, cinemas and theatres. But their relationship, over the years, will slowly crumble. After Pasquale's death, a huge fire will definitively put an end to their dream and their empire.

A film made twice.

Rudi and Silvia, with their children Martín, Federico and Silvina, escape from the city to spend a few days in their country house. Rudi gets into arguments with the neighborhood landlord. Children wander around the area. Martín likes fire. Fede is scared. One day, the abandoned house in the background suffers an unexpected fire and a dead person appears: a homeless man suffocated by the smoke. The children did something. Something horrible. Finding shelter in an abandoned mansion, a group faces the challenges of coexistence. Free from traditional power structures, the black women experience power, love, and the possibility of dreaming about the future, while the white women resist learning to help with household chores, take care of themselves, and face their mistakes. When an old threat resurfaces, however, they all must band together to survive.

This short film was a school project that originated Sozinhos (2021). This footage was filmed in 2019, with the first version of the script that got re-writen, filmed again and released as the official short film. Also available on Youtube.
