Only the Way

A rare Buddhism-themed Hong Kong film, inspirational effort Only the Way from director Tang Tak Wing follows a wayward man whose life is transformed by Buddhist teachings. Starring Cheung Kwok Keung (The Pye-Dog) and 1980s and 90s action starlet Moon Lee, Only the Way reflects on life with sensitive insight and a gentle smile. Cheung Kwok Keung portrays a washed-out songwriter whose bad karma begins to catch up with him. His life goes into free fall as his girlfriend leaves him, his career goes downhill, and his mother (Siu Yam Yam, The Moss) passes away. All these setbacks make him live in even greater spite of the world until one day he encounters a Temple Street vendor (Tong Zhen) who introduces him to Buddhism.

Ghost Promise

30 years ago, Blood Monster was caught by Mentor. Blood Monster promised that he will turn over a new leaf and Mentor makes a promise with Blood Monster. 30 years later, Bond gets married to Mindy. Bond leaves Mindy awhile to attend to business in the mainland. While Mindy walks around, she gets lost in foggy weather and she decides to stay in an old building. There, she is raped by Blood Monster and drained to death. Her spirit flows back to her house and she wants to stay with Bond and takes revenge by becoming a blood-feeding ghost. Her relative Cousin and Cousin's boyfriend Chak note Mindy's strange behaviour after her 'return'.

Unplugging Nightmare

Yoyo Mung stars as a Chi, a reporter who's been plagued by the same freaky nightmare since childhood. In the dream, she sees a creepy old house and a mysterious woman in a rocking chair. Luckily, the dream only seems to cause her morning stress, and no apparent long-term damage. Meanwhile, her new editor/boyfriend Joe (Edmond Leung) assigns her to a series of articles on reputed haunted houses. With pal/coworker Kei (Jo Koo) in tow, Chi happens upon—surprise—the exact same house that infests her dreams! Due to his rebellious nature, Lo Fei suffered a traumatic childhood with abuse and maltreatment from his bad-tempered but famous sculptor father. Apart from receiving corporal punishment and verbal abuse, he was often locked up inside the wardrobe. The dark childhood turned Lo into a weirdo frequently tormented by the pain of childhood memories as well as hallucination of his dead father. Lo betrayed his father's artistic career and chose to become a magician and performer of extremities instead, to prove his own capabilities. During one of his death-defying show, Lo was seriously wounded by shocks of his childhood nightmares. Not knowing the truth behind it, his girlfriend Lei thought he was stretching his physical strength too far. She therefore took him to a quiet retreat in the suburb to recuperate. Prison on Fire: Life Sentence

A group of prisoners were doing a variety of activities on the courtyard. Big Fool (William Ho) and Crazy Bill (Tommy Wong) were playing basketball where Bill kicks the ball towards Tung (Ben Wong), who kicks it away. Bill felt humiliated by it and stars a fight with Tung where Tung ends out hospitalized. During hospitalization, Tung thinks about the time when his family moved to another house and opened a food stall nearby. However, their stall was burnt by triad leader Sing (Bill Lung), who constantly bullies Tung's family and also raped Tung's girlfriend, Sau (Iris Wong). Unable to tolerate Sing's bullying, Tung kills Sing by chopping him to death, which leads Tung to being imprisoned.
