Four Days That Shook Britain

One year on from the first of four terror attacks which hit Britain in 2017, this documentary tells the personal stories of people who were caught up in the atrocities in Westminster, at Manchester Arena, around London Bridge and outside Finsbury Park Mosque. Those involved - some speaking for the first time - relive the moments of fear and panic that unfolded after the attacks, building a vivid picture of these catastrophic and life-changing events. They also explain how they have continued to try to cope with the consequences ever since. Featuring contributions from the likes of Grant Shapps MP, visitors to Parliament on the day of the Westminster Bridge attack, Ariana Grande fans injured in the Manchester bombing, those caught up in the London Bridge attack and members from the Muslim community in Finsbury Park, this programme provides a compelling insight into the personal consequences of the attacks, as well as the public and political mood in the aftermath.

Lilies

A gang of happy Halloween party animals are heading for the haunted party of the year, when they are accosted by a strange old man. He's laying flowers for a funeral that hasn't happened yet...or has it? This is going to be one party no one forgets in a hurry. After Trick or Treating in the Deep South in the 80s as a sugared-up tiny ghoul, writer/producer Nina Romain has never stopped being obsessed with Halloween - which is why five of her horror shorts are about 31st October. Shot in the mean streets of urban decay in south London, this modern day take on Clockwork Orange sees the tables turned on Halloween revellers in a way you won't see coming. Lilies has been selected by Hollywood Horror Film Festival, Take It Easy Film Festival, MedFF, Aab International Film Festival, was a semi-finalist at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival, a finalist at Upstate NY Horror Film Festival and the Shock Stock Fest.

15 days

After the refugee camp near Calais that became known as the Jungle was razed in 2016, the hundreds of people who had found shelter and a sense of community there were equally abruptly uprooted, adding yet another sorry episode to the disruption and displacement they had already suffered in their flight from persecution, corruption and the fall-out of war. Imran Perretta’s video 15 days is inspired by the time that he spent in Northern France with former inhabitants of the Jungle, now living rough in the surrounding woods and fields.

Leaning Into the Wind: Andy Goldsworthy

Thomas Riedelsheimer’s landmark Rivers and Tides inventively documented artist Andy Goldsworthy as he created his wondrously ephemeral site-specific sculptures, spun from nature. Evita: The Making of a Superstar

Suzy Klein travels deep into the world of musical theatre, and the colourful landscapes of Argentina, to discover the story of one of the West End's most celebrated characters. Intertwining the stories of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's creation with the true story of Eva Peron, she celebrates the extraordinary show in the 40th year after its creation. Meeting musical stars including Elaine Paige, Hal Prince and Tim Rice, she hears how the show came into being, all inspired by a face on a postage stamp. She then travels to Argentina, meeting politicians, performers and Eva fans to hear how this intensely divisive figure - loved by the poor, loathed by the rich - became one of the enduring icons of our time.

Canvey - The Promised Island

After decades of rising house prices, many of the North London Hasidic Jewish community are relocating 50 miles east to the more affordable Canvey Island, Essex: a Brexit stronghold voted 'the most English place in Britain'. This film follows the reactions of the island’s Anglican and agnostic residents as they get to grips with their new neighbours. It has the potential to be a culture clash, but leaders on both sides of the sea wall are determined that good neighbourly relations will prevail. The film follows Chris Fenwick, island native and manager of rock band Dr Feelgood, as he organises a party for both communities with social integration at the top of the menu. With Anglican priest David Tudor and key Hasidic elders on side, can Chris join the new Canvey Island community together in peace and integration?
