A montage experiment in which Dore O., her body painted in different colours, swings back and forth in front of a movie screen, on which is painted a phallus (slightly abstract and fairly large). The perspective is such that the girl appears to be swinging into and out of the phallus. It is one who is content to see through the specific event. The work exhausts itself in a trivial aspect, the literary. This is most comfortable for the critic: the literary content of a work is easiest to reproduce in a literary form of criticism.

The area is plagued by a gang of pirates under the leadership of Captain Kelly, who live on an island in the river, from where they operate raids on passing steamboats and traders rafts, robbing them of their cargo and murdering the crews. Townspeople and settlers do their best to put an end to the crimes and rid themselves of the pirates and their daring leader.

The devil wants revenge on Kasper for his last defeat and kidnaps Gretel in a helicopter. Kasper uses all the possibilities of modern technology to find and free Gretel, but the devil always manages to shake off his pursuer. He insidiously saws through the bridge and Kasper and his Trabant plunge into deep water. The devil sees himself as the winner, but has not reckoned with Kasper's determination and the reliability of the little car. In the end, the evil kidnapper is defeated and locked in the fridge.

What do people expect from movies these days and what criticism do they have on their minds? The interviewees are vacationers of all ages and tastes. The occasion and background for this not entirely serious survey is the 1965 Summer Film Festival, which is captured in a cheerful reportage style. Interviews with actors on the festive opening evening and climax of the film confirm that there is only a relative cinema fatigue. It depends on the quality of the film on offer.

24 hours on the border between East and West Germany. In an outlying West Berlin district, police officers chat about their personal lives, take care of petty offence and at most, warn the odd rubbernecker away from the border to the “Soviet zone”. Neighbor Krup seems to be a promising candidate and a good match in his eyes. Money could come into the family if Nörig were to marry Krup's sister...

German television version of the story “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allen Poe.

The film’s subtitle identifies it as a “study of the constructive discontent of a composer”. It is a portrait of the pugnacious musician Paul Dessau (1894 – 1979), who was controversial in East Germany, as a teacher. It follows the composer as he rehearses the “Bach Variations” with the Berlin state opera orchestra, as well during classes at the Polytechnic School I in Zeuthen, where he strives to teach the students a critical attitude. In an interview, Dessau bemoans the simplification of artistic media and elucidates the meaning and necessity of “hard sounds in an era that is not soft”. As we see when he works, “pleasure requires effort” … “art is never comfortable. Building socialism is not comfortable at all. That’s why I’m in favour of the uncomfortable”.

Professor Johansson has made a huge scientific breakthrough; a device that will create a huge magnetic pulse that knocks out all electricity over a continent-wide area. The military applications are already being thought of when Dr. Johansson is kidnapped by a group of profit-seeking mercenaries. Meanwhile, his daughter, Karin, finds herself having to consort with all manner of shady characters as she searches for her father.

A re-edited U.S. release of the 1958 West German film Mit Eva fing die Sünde an (Sin Began with Eve), The Bellboy and the Playgirls (1962) features roughly fifteen minutes of new color footage directed by Francis Ford Coppola and edited by Jack Hill. The added material follows a bellboy who dreams of becoming a private detective and spies on a group of women at the hotel—lingerie sales representatives who give him more than enough to investigate.

The famous-notorious Division Brandenburg was (in wartime) under command of Admiral Canaris. But, the death brave division, joined by men, who where not really quite volunteering, received a command: Sulina, a harbour at black sea, where urgently needed oil is turner over, should be prevented from an attack. The plan is worked out and some more men need to volunteer, to let it become real.

A new pupil has joined the seventh grade and - as is often the case - is met with scepticism. What is more: Mathias' classmates are angry because he is frequently late, goes home early and, on top of it, performs badly at school. They have to acknowledge, however; that he is very gutsy.
