The multiplication of bodies and the transformations made to colors and speed turn these recordings into video art works that question the boundary between figuration and abstraction. The original soundtracks have been preserved. Slowed down to the same speed as the image and enriched with various effects, they contribute to the aesthetics of these détournements. The body, pushed to its limits, transcends itself to give life to new representations of physical activity.

'Wee Gay USA' is a film about the queer history of video in America. As a queer Scottish person, I reflect on my time spent living there and my investment in the current and historical American queer culture. It is a comedic but also deeply emotional look at the experiences of our queer elders. Through video collage I have created an alternative narrative to the archival footage I have collected.
