At a Distance

The film shows the whole background of the new reality that the world faced in the spring of 2020. Paradoxically, the most severe ordeal in the last 20 years has brought people together, while dividing them. Loneliness became a catalyst for internal changes for the six Russian-speaking characters of the film from different countries. Distanced from the usual life, for a month they filmed video diaries and learned to interact with the world in the new conditions of strict restrictions. Everything that is shown on the screen is pure improvisation, non-stop life, sincere feelings without censorship. The truthfulness of what is happening is emphasized by one of the most innovative technological formats — screenlife.

Waiting for the Sea

Can an electronic music festival held in the remote shores of the dried-up Aral Sea inspire a creative renaissance and shine a spotlight on a little-known environmental disaster? With this question in mind, filmmaker George Itzhak sets out on a cinematic journey to this far-flung corner of Uzbekistan to create a vibrant and thought-provoking portrait of Stihia, the music festival fuelling an electronic dawn for Central Asia and acting as an alarm bell for a man-made environmental crisis.

Fencing Teacher

The great Mark Rakita is rightfully considered the father of the Russian sabre. One of Russia's most decorated fencers, he won his first Olympic gold back in Tokyo in 1964, and the second in Mexico City in 1968. In addition, he is a six-time world champion, a five-time European champion and a three-time USSR champion. Mark Rakita is also a great fencing coach and teacher, and it's not for nothing that he was awarded the title of Honored Coach of the USSR: he trained Olympic champions Viktor Krovopuskov and Mikhail Burtsev, as well as three—time world champion Sergei Koryazhkin. Rakita was feared because he was considered the smartest saber player on the globe and won not at the expense of strength, but at the expense of intelligence. Today Mark Rakita is 87, but he is still in the ranks – he is chairman of the Council of Elders and chairman of the Coaching Council of the Russian Fencing Federation.

Once Upon a Time

Strange things are happening in one quiet peasant hut. An old man and an old woman and their little granddaughter lived in it. The family had the hen Ryaba and once she laid down an egg, but not a simple, but the golden one. Grandfather and grandmother were watching, and the egg has turned into a turnip. They began, as usual, to drag and pull it, but the spouses did not have cats or dogs. There was a mouse, however, but she did not show any particular desire to take part in the common work.
