BABYMETAL - Rock am Ring

BABYMETAL's performance at Rock am Ring 2018 was a thrilling and intense showcase of their unique fusion of J-pop and heavy metal. As one of the few non-Western acts at the iconic German festival, Su-metal and Moametal, along with their supporting dancers and the powerful Kami Band, delivered a high-energy set that featured hits like "Gimme Chocolate!!" and "Megitsune." The show was marked by its signature blend of intricate choreography, powerful vocals, and dynamic stage presence. Despite the rain-soaked conditions, BABYMETAL captivated the crowd, proving their ability to electrify audiences on one of the world's biggest rock stages.

Angel at the Dump

"I made this video because my grandmother had erotomania. Erotomania is a type of schizophrenia where the sufferer can’t distinguish between real life and one’s own imagination life. One day my grandma suddenly said, ”I had someone I truly loved when I was young and he is looking for me to pick me up” The next day, she started riding a taxi for few hours trying to find him. ... No one knows if my grandmother’s true love exists or not. ... At the same time as my grandmother I was also on a search. I was looking for angels. My interest in angels started when I discovered Paul Klee’s Angel Drowning series. This series had a profound effect on me. Within the same week my friend took me to a Walter Benjamin lecture where they discussed his angel theories. It was synchronicity. My grandmother and I were both searching for something, something that no one knew existed or not." -UMMMI.

Almost Ghost

I returned to 8mm home movies for this compilation film, shot during the final year of my grandmother's life, and, beginning with footage of her garden. It is a documentary about gradually vanishing equipment collapsing and deteriorating, and also a document of those processes themselves. With the camera picking up details so minute that you can practically smell the pungent odors on the other side of the lens. I continued filming while actually having no idea when the device might reach the end of its life.
