'Trailblazers in Habits' is an intimate portrait of a group of American Catholic nuns, the Maryknoll Sisters, who have accompanied the disenfranchised in their struggle for social justice. The music documentary “L.O.V.E. in F.R.A.M.E.S.” is directed by Cheung Kit Bong, one of the backing vocalists of DUO band. It captures the behind-the-scenes of the “DUO Eason Chan Concert” between 2010 and 2012 and the making of the album “L.O.V.E.” in England, Guangzhou and Hong Kong over six years. The two-year “DUO Eason Chan Concert” is a tour of 66 concerts. During the tour, all members of the DUO band turned from strangers to friends, they have even become indispensable partners of each other. This two-hour documentary is all about capturing and sharing the loving memories of the DUO band with the audience.

Talking about her documentary, she first talked about “Mommy, Mama and Us” and said that she was a pair of lesbians in Hong Kong who insisted on the possibility of same-sex marriage and family and hoped to tell other people through their own stories. People, sex proceeds unimpeded. “It was a pair of lovers who had a lot of questions when you saw them. Their stories had many complexities, but at the same time, they also showed that they all came along with firm love and courage.” She laughed and remembered the pair. Same-sex mothers are holding cute sticky sons and kiss each other's foreheads, gently grinding the love and encounter of two generations.

With his growing affection for Mei, Wai risks smuggling illegal drugs into China in order to earn some fast money for a better life with her.

The last Vietnamese refugee camp in Hong Kong was shut down in 2000, leaving a big group of refugees living on the streets. In philately, "tête-bêche", or head-to-tail in English, is used to referred to a pair of generic stamps which is inverted in relation to one another, either through a printing error or intentionally. The stamps are of special value only when they are unseparated. Metaphorically, "tête-bêche" can precisely reflected the portrayed family's tricky situation, that different role-plays or value judgments can lead to sparkling tension among family members, yet somehow the old saying of "blood is thicker than water" prevails.

Lai-sing, full of aspirations as a journalist, lives in Hong Kong with his sister Kei-mei. Their parents live in Hainan since retirement while Uncle Guoyou lives in Shenzhen. The family is separated until the third anniversary of the death of Lai-sing's grandmother. According to tradition, a monument has to be erected on this occasion, which brings the family members to meet up. The reunion slowly unveils the indiscernible distances and intimacies built over time. It is only through understanding and acceptance that they would cast aside their differences and show genuine care for each other.

Ho Ko-chun suffers from ‘Small Penis Syndrome’. As an adolescent high school student, Ko-chun often feels miserable about his penis size. Only until he meets the cheerful Lok Tsz-kwan, he can finally be energized and uplifted. Tsz-kwan reveals to Ko-chun that he, like Ko-chun, doesn’t have normal penis size. They soon build a perfect bond of friendship. They call themselves as the 'little birdmen'. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long. Tsz-kwan has to leave Hong Kong for his study while Ko-chun stays. After many years, they meet again and they never forget each other. Yet, Tsz-kwan even persuades Ko-chun to become a male prostitute with him...Career could have changed but their friendship remains the same.

In our daydreams, we always dream about who we can be and what we can do. Chak is always living between his dream state – where he is admired and can get any girl he wants – and the reality – where he is constantly teased by his sexually frustrated, foul-mouthed friends. One day, Chak's dream becomes reality when he finds the acceptance of a girl he likes, but cruel reality eventually stops him once more. Instead of running away, Chak must face the real world head-on this time around.

Inspired by the untold personal story of the 19th-century Chinese poet and revolutionary Qiu Jin, Wu Tsang brings to life, subverts, and re-enacts the lesser-known romance and friendship with calligrapher Wu Zhiying. Set in contemporary Hong Kong, the film shifts between time and space, past and present, fact and fiction through Tsang's continued exploration of language and misinterpretation.

A missed love with three pairs of men and women.

Kuen is a lounge singer on Temple Street. Her son Kakei, now a university student, returns to Hong Kong for just a few days after emigrating to Canada with his father. Kuen's colleague Kit has to work overnight and enlists Kuen’s help to take care of her young son. During the sleepless night, Kuen and Ka-kei relive their past and envisage their future through another pair of mother and son. Under the bright sun, the cycle of life and family relationships continue, made all the more touching by the nuanced moments of care and concern between each other. SHAM Ka-ki of Weeds On Fire plays the son and renders a tender and layered performance full of subtlety.

The film is a resonant portrayal of the younger generation in the post-Umbrella Movement era. Two years ago, Ah-man (Ng Wing-sze), an independent yet stubborn university student, left home after a furious argument with her mum when the Umbrella Movement broke out. Now, she undertakes a new kind of lifestyle – a life of a vegetarian and an organic farmer. However, she never stops thinking of the taste from home. With the film's fragmentary narrative style, Ah-man’s story also reflects the ambivalent decisions between family and society of her friends.

Yau-yau has a doting grandfather who is charged with school pick-ups, a routine that often comes complete with toys and treats. But Grandpa has become forgetful lately. In fact, he has left doors unlocked and was found wandering streets, disorientated and lost, worrying signs that raise a red flag about a particular condition that Yau-yau’s mother has dealt with up close and personal – Alzheimer’s. Grandpa responds in defensive denial until one day he breaks a daily pattern and begins a spiralling deterioration that Yau-yau is still too young to comprehend.

On 6th March 2011, 113 protesters in Hong Kong were arrested for "Unlawful Assembly" after they stormed the traffic lanes of Central during a demonstration against the budget proposal. Protesters were placed in the canteen of the police station for questioning in groups due to inadequate rooms. Three protesters and three police officers, six people with different political views sitting around the table. The copy machine is out of order; it's going to be a long night. So they started chatting.

About a man from another world is alone in an environment that is livable, if not comfortable, but is ultimately a short film about diaspora, rootlessness, and the meaning of home. (NB: The voice-over is not in Esperanto, rather, and as noted in the closing credits, it is in the constructed language "Lingwa de planeta" -"LdP" or "Lidepla" for short-, perhaps further emphasizing rootlessness and the notions listed above.)

Art imitates life in this charming short about the fictional actress LilyMoon. With a chance encounter and a lost autobiographical manuscript, a bartender becomes acquainted with the retired screen star. Their friendship blossoms as LilyMoon reminisces about her past including her life as a sought-after actor, non-existent childhood and memories of first love. Eventually, the young and well-meaning bartender helps to relieve LilyMoon's pent-up feelings of sadness and encourages her to meet a long-lost lover.

The Unfinished Return of Yu Man-hon focuses on Cici Wu's cultural imaginary and extensive research into the unaccountable disappearance of Yu Man-hon, a mentally disabled and an autistic boy who crossed the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border into the mainland and disappeared on August 24, 2000.

Sammi Cheng traveled to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau, Singapore, China, Australia and the United Kingdom for her Touch Mi world tour which kicked off in 2014. The two-year show came to an end in September 2016 at Hong Kong Coliseum. The pop diva livened the atmosphere with powerful dance jams, including Fabulous and "Shocking Pink," and famous movie theme songs such as "Last Time" and "Beautiful for Life." She also showed her faith through a number of gospel songs, including "God Has Prepared for Us" harmonized by Red Vocal Academy students, "Pilgrimage" and "Crime and Punishment" featuring hip-hop group 24herbs members Kit and Phat. Collaborations with Ricky Hsiao, hip-hop artist MC Yan and Louis Koo are also included in this live release.

A conservative middle-aged woman, Jane, who is a teacher, a wife, a mother, stumbles on a chance of committing infidelity, due to the difficult circumstances in her family life.

The two protagonists – an architect and a prisoner living in parallel realities in the present time and an ambiguous distanced past, respectively – conjure up imaginations and experiences of imprisonment. In their dialogue across space and time they debate the relations between humans, the world, and freedom. They talk of visible and invisible imprisonment, existentialism as a means of self-redemption, and at the same time question the relationship of humans to the space around them. An attempt at reconciliation with the world and human nature.

Poet and author Xi Xi is one of Hong Kong's most treasured writers. Though also acclaimed in Taiwan and mainland China for seminal works like the essay Shops, her writings are firmly rooted in the spirit of Hong Kong. Leave it to Fruit Chan, another staunchly grassroots auteur, to make a documentary on Xi Xi's career. Chan sought out renowned critics and writers to discuss Xi Xi's works, starting with 1979's My City. He also juxtaposes photos of a changing Hong Kong with readings of her writings, and even playfully inserts characters from her stories into the film.

Sze-man is facing a dilemma when she participates in an inter-school debate. On the negative side, she is working on the motto “Hong Kong Government should allow Mainlanders to settle down in Hong Kong”. During the course of preparation, however, she is constantly challenging her own position. Her “secret” as a cross-boundary student living in Shenzhen is carefully kept away from her classmates for fear that she will be discriminated against. With more and more drifters crossing the Hong Kong - China border, we are actually facing a changing time with a fast-developing and unique relationship with the Mainlanders, as well as ourselves.

A sweet and daring portrait of blurred sexuality and love complications, this independent feature tells the story of Dennis and Aggie, pals since primary school and roommates for five years. He works in a painting studio while she’s a photographer and aspiring filmmaker. Both are gay, but inseparable as friends. Matters become tense, however, when Dennis announces an arranged marriage and Aggie finds herself increasingly jealous.

A seemingly innocent romance between two people is destroyed by reality in Step on Grass. Under most circumstances, “she” and “he” would be together happily ever after. However, the problem is that “she” is a teacher, and “he” is her student. The nature of their relationship may be pure, but society will always see it as improper due to their identities. Soon, one step in the wrong path sends their lives further spiraling out of control, and “she” is forced to make a decision.

Shenyang, in deep winter snow. Two promising 12-year-old Beijing opera students, Dong (‘winter’ in Chinese) and Nuannuan (literally meaning ‘warmth’) are practising their stage moves diligently and fervently in order to secure their place in an upcoming performance in the capital. Nuannuan has a crush on Dong but Dong is lost in a daze – of a muted longing for his dead mother and a nameless affection for the girl’s young aunt – which unfolds in the juxtaposing scenes of a lone balloon drifting away and a colourful kite soaring into the sky. The train is soon to leave for Beijing, a fond farewell has been bided. Dong has to make his journey, with or without Nuannuan.

With Three Days After My Death, Yim Ho creates a parable: a woman who wants to die must save someone's life before her death wish be granted. Tsai Ming-Liang returns with No No Sleep, where bare-footed Lee Kang-Sheng walks Tokyo streets in the depth of winter.

Life and death are decreed by fate, so the wisdom goes—but who really controls our first and last breath? When we are vulnerable, is the omniscient and omnipotent Heavenly Father the only refuge? The pastor’s wife is terminally ill. By her death bed is the devoted younger son who wishes to minimize her suffering by withholding life support so that she can leave in peace. The pastor, however, insists on obeying the doctrines and God’s will. As signs of impending death approach, is the pastor simply waiting for a miracle? A difficult debate ensues when love for the family conflicts with religious obligations.
