Shared Legacies: The African-American Jewish Civil Rights Alliance

The historical ties between Black and Jewish Americans began long before the Civil Rights era. Shared Legacies explores this significant alliance, sharing eyewitness accounts, interviews with civil rights leaders, including the late U.S. Representative John Lewis, and a treasure trove of archival footage. The film is a tribute to the pursuit of what Dr. King called a "coalition of conscience" and a celebration of partnership, as well as an urgent call to action for today.

The Shift

The Shift aims to capture the vulnerable condition of a temporary worker and to reveal the immediate consequences of the dangerously short and ever-present distance separating employment and poverty, security and tumult.

Rematriation

For generations, Indigenous peoples have asked humanity to raise its consciousness for our Mother Earth. Now, Indigenous women are raising their voices to demonstrate what living in balance looks like, by sharing gifts given to them by Creation. Rematriation Magazine centered the voices of 10 Indigenous women to share stories of resilience, leadership, spirituality, healing and honoring life. Led by an all women team, director, Katsitsionni Fox (Mohawk), producer, Michelle Schenandoah (Oneida) and cinematographer, Marie Cecile Dietlin. Rematriation Magazine’s film series furthers the current national dialogue about dismantling social injustice through a spiritually grounded lens.

1186 to Omaha

After a heartbreaking loss to Vanderbilt in the 2014 College World Series Championship game, Virginia entered the 2015 season with its sights set on making the 1,186-mile trip back to Omaha. But a host of injuries and tough losses had the Cavaliers on the verge of missing the NCAA tournament for the first time since head coach Brian O’Connor took the helm in 2004. A late-season run gave Virginia renewed hope as it relied on the strength of the program’s culture to make one of the sport’s most remarkable turnarounds en route to a CWS Championship finals rematch with Vanderbilt and the ACC’s first College World Series title since 1955.

Yippee Ki-Yay Merry Christmas! A DIE HARD Musical Parody

Yippee Ki-Yay Merry Christmas: A Die Hard Musical Parody debuted November 29, 2014 at MCL Chicago, a storefront theatre founded in July of the same year by Stephanie McCullough, Michael Shepherd Jordan, and Alex Garday to celebrate the art of music comedy, blending their shared experiences in improv, musical improv, and musical theater. In late September, only having been open three months, the founders realized they needed a show for the Fall/Winter season. Acting volunteer secretary at the time, Alex Richmond, mentioned that her family watched Die Hard every holiday season and the C4 was set, so to speak. The founders quickly went to work parodying the beloved 80s action movie turning it into the hilarious musical audiences know and love today.
