Benita

A documentary that follows Spanish television personality and psychic Benita Castejón Elvira as she embarks on the most important journey of her life: her gender transition. Through a series of personal milestones, Benita reflects on her childhood in a poor Madrid neighborhood, her early career as a performer and media figure, and the struggles that shaped her identity. The film accompanies her through emotional and practical steps of transition—such as changing her legal identity and preparing for gender-affirming surgery—while revealing the private person behind the public persona. Along the way, friends, family members, and LGBTQ+ advocates offer perspectives on her experience, turning the story into both an intimate portrait and a broader reflection on visibility, courage, and the right to live authentically.

Univers(o) Pecanins

They represented an entire era in the history of Mexican art. For almost half a century they were the benchmark of Catalan and Mexican art. The Pecanins family lived through the Spanish Civil War and saved the postwar period and the dictatorship. They left a gray country and entered the splendid Mexico of the fifties. Another world. They integrated quickly, without losing their roots. The Pecanins sisters, Montse, Tere and Anna Maria celebrated each anniversary of the Pecanins Gallery as a miracle.

El árbol de la muralla

Jack Fuchs is one of the last Holocaust survivors who currently lives in Buenos Aires. With a serene face, relaxed tone and intelligent humor, it is difficult to connect this Pole with that man who was imprisoned for years in concentration camps, including Auschwitz, and who lost his entire family in World War II. Despite the pain, and after 40 years of silence, Jack offers talks and conferences, receives visitors and cooks for his family and friends. Using animation and images filmed by Fuchs himself as resources, the new documentary by Tomás Lipgot composes the portrait of a survivor of the Nazi genocide who, at almost ninety years old, surprises with his lucidity and enchantment.

The First Woman

Eva’s being allowed to leave the psychiatric institution she’s lived in for six years. After a long year of waiting, the news arrive: an assisted living residence is found for her. While she’s taking stock of her past and works on her self-confidence as well as her trust in the outside world, she also fixes firmly on her main goal: to reconnect with the son she lost custody of 20 years ago and ask him to forgive her. The First Woman is a film about second chances, the search for "normality" and the borderline between lucidity and darkness.

Snow White Ballet

A treat for adults and children alike - and following this ballet's successful premiere in Spain, "Snow White" is now available to all. Covent Garden's celebrated prima ballerina Tamara Rojo took time off from the Royal Ballet to return home and star in this delightful version of the beloved fairy tale. With a new score by Spain's popular conductor-composer Emilio Aragón, "Snow White" was acclaimed at its 2005 premiere: "Rojo recalls those earlier ballerina-heroines capable of making classical into a sublime religion" (El País, Madrid).
