The Foaming Node

Ian Haig’s The Foaming Node essays the discovery and emergence of new bodily organs in meticulous and captivating detail. We follow the last remaining observers, members of a cult of sorts, who have experienced both the transmissions of The Foaming Node, and their own personal and strange bodily transformations. They discuss exactly how the changes associated with The Foaming Node have affected them, telling fascinating, visceral, detailed tales that reach beyond science, alternative medicine, and corporeality.

Letters from Eden

Eden is a few years graduated from high school and decides to write a series of letters addressed to her younger self as a form of catharsis, reflecting on her experiences of being a publicly out queer teenager, as well as what she wishes she knew when she was growing up... and what she wishes she didn’t. From the trials, tribulations, and trauma of being ‘different’ to her peers, to the unconditional allyship shown by those close to her, this is an emotional story about self-discovery, acceptance, courage, and first love.

And The Waves Washed Over Me

An experimental collage-essay composed entirely of iPhone footage, this film captures the emotional textures of memory over the past few years—a move from Sydney to Paris, following love and the pull of what felt right in the moment. Fragments of everyday life, layered with original music, create a flowing meditation on the past and present. The film avoids a linear narrative, instead mirroring the way memories rise and fall like waves: fleeting, emotional, and deeply personal. It’s an attempt to translate lived experience into film, celebrating the beauty of letting life wash over you, while holding onto the love and connections that shape who we are.

Motorbikin': Coast To Coast

The Motorbikin' boys are back as Phil and Bill take a shot at the four and a half day record coast to coast across Oz... They gave it a go back in 2008 on KTM 950 SE's but DNFed after melting their tyres at high speed midway at The Rock. They were down but not out and this year (2010) they returned on big tanked DR 650s leaving Byron Bay (Australia's most easterly point) and heading for Steep Point WA, (Australia's most westerly point) via the Simpson Desert and The Gunbarrel. The adventure that unfolded was captured on multiple cameras, including amazing aerial footage shot by Dick and Easo who tailed them in a light plane. Featuring roo strikes in western Queensland, flooding at Birdsville, a crossing of the Simpson in a day and the bone jarring corrugations of The Gunbarrel. See the Simpson and the flooded Red Centre as you've never seen it before in this non stop adrenaline fueled transcontinental blast.

Holding Tightly: Custom and Healing in Timor-Leste

Healing in Timor-Leste is rarely straightforward. Timorese people acknowledge and embrace multiple pathways to healing in a complex interplay between spiritual care, comfort and personal connection. Through lifelong observation and learning, they trial a variety of practices and pass down their knowledge to the next generation. Holding Tightly observes seven approaches to healing in remote, rural and urban parts of the Baucau municipality in the country’s east, spanning contexts and experiences from the armed resistance era to the independence period.

Queering India

As the Supreme Court refuses to grant marriage equality, Queering India captures a pivotal moment in the world’s largest democracy. Through the eyes of journalist and actor Swapnesh Dubey, the film weaves a powerful narrative, combining his coming-out journey with voices from across India. This multilingual documentary doesn’t look outward for validation, it looks inward, reclaiming a forgotten truth: that queerness in Indian culture was once revered, not erased. It confronts colonial hangovers, societal silences, and the class and language divides that shape who gets to participate in the national conversation.

The Human Face of Indonesia

Indonesia is among Australia’s closest neighbours - less than 500 kilometres separates our northern coastline from the island of Timor. It is one of the world’s most populous countries and over 80 percent of its people are Muslim. The military plays a significant role in politics in Indonesia and at the time of filming, the government was headed by President Suharto, an army general. This series looks at the lives of seven very different people, all Indonesian. Through these individuals, we gain contrasting perspectives on Indonesia which contribute to our understanding of this nation’s complex character.
