Spaghetti Ramen

Originally completed in 2018, the film was largely self-funded, Mr Yen Ooi worked on the script, refining the vision of the film for over a decade, with multiple iterations of the story under names such as 'Beetle Ramen', in which the completed draft of this screenplay was finalised in 2005, this would become the basis of inspiration and 13 years later the final production "Spaghetti Ramen" would be completed. It was then distributed to different indie and international film festivals. Unfortunately due to the passing of the director in the same year, the final processes were incomplete and the film did not get screened anywhere due to not getting the rights clearance. In 2023 however, the film was cleared to screen at WORM, Camera Japan in Rotterdam. This allowed for the first and only screening of the film in the world.

I Remember 1948

Speaking in Arabic and English, Soliman Al-Halawani, Dr. Mahmoud Hourani, Fouad Charida, Dib El Chami and Rafica El Chami Batach tell of their life in Palestine before 1948 and give eye-witness accounts of the tumultuous days of 'Al Nakba' (the catastrophe), May 15th, and its aftermath. As children and young adults, they and their families were among 750,000 Palestinians fleeing for their lives, as Zionist terror gangs began seizing villages to enlarge the recently created State of Israel. The stories told by these speakers are poignant, unexpected and sometimes surprising, expressing not only the tragedies but also the small miracles which occur in a human catastrophe of such dimensions. Prevented from returning to their homes, the speakers lived as refugees, eventually making their way to Australia. Their continued longing to see their homeland eloquently expresses the feelings of the dispossessed everywhere, and gives this film a universal dimension.

King’s Seal

In the circle of life - birth, survival and death, Aboriginal people have a network of sites and tracks, embedded in the land, that connect them to all things and enable them to practice their laws, traditions and beliefs. Colonisation in Australia, denied Aboriginal people access to their land - breaking the life cycle for Aboriginal people. The Free-Settler Colony of South Australia was going to be different. King William IV recognised the continued rights to land for Aboriginal people in South Australia's founding document, the Letters Patent, in Feb 1836. The first ever Aboriginal rights granted in Australia's colonial history. Rights to the land, to occupy and enjoy their land for always, enshrined in law by the King's seal. What actually occurred in South Australia after colonisation in 1836 was treason. The King's Letters Patent was disobeyed and Aboriginal rights that were granted, to occupy and enjoy their land, were denied.

Gone Lesbo Gone: The Untold Tale of an Unseen Film

A retrospective documentary on filmmaker Andrew Leavold's debut feature, 'Lesbo-A-Go-Go' (2003). This is the tale of a man with big ideas but no budget who assembled a crew and set out to make a faux sixties exploitation film, the kind of film he would want to see though sadly at the time due to the niche nature of the subject matter very few else did. Despite its entrapment in distribution limbo for over a decade, 'Lesbo-A-Go-Go' has garnered a minor cult reputation internationally and this documentary explores the film's sordid production history as well as its enduring legacy. A no-holds-barred tell-all tale with interviews from cast, crew and industry professionals interspersed with never-before-seen alternate takes, bloopers and behind-the-scenes footage from the film.

The Celluloid Domain

The Celluloid Domain is the brainchild of Sydney based Zimbabwean-Australian filmmaker, Paul Matereke. A year in the making, the film centres around the Art Gallery of New South Wales' uniquely all-35mm film program and its exceptionally talented curator, Robert Herbert. As a budding young artist, Paul explores Robert's 20+ year career in the film industry and uses the knowledge gained to inform his own ambitions. The film includes intimate interviews with Sydney locals & cinephiles, and showcases the immensely interesting world of Celluloid film. Robert handles these films; which he considers an art form like any other, with the utmost care and respect. Much like the largely forgotten world of film projection, Robert represents a rare breed of people. His commitment to preserving the art of cinema proves to be an inspiration to the younger generation of filmmakers, and highlights the significance of remembering and maintaining the treasures of the past.

Beth Gibbons - Live at Sydney Opera House

Portishead’s iconic vocalist Beth Gibbons returned nearly 15 years after her band last performed in Australia—her singular voice as intense as ever— her Australian solo debut part of Vivid LIVE 2025 at Sydney Opera House. Few voices were as instantly recognisable, as spooky and seductive, as that of Portishead’s Beth Gibbons. The English singer-songwriter rose to fame as the voice of that trip-hop trio, a group whose slinky, sinister beats and jazz-infused vocals set them apart from the chill-out sounds of the 90s. Gibbons returned for her solo show, performing tracks from her critically acclaimed new album Lives Outgrown and a selection of classics from across her career. Following the era-defining sound of Portishead’s debut Dummy (1994) and their self-titled 1997 sequel, Gibbons spent the band’s extended hiatus recording Out of Season (2002), an eerie chamber-folk album alongside Talk Talk’s Paul Webb.
