Archived footage and images from the present-day museum are shown to accompany the original audio recordings.

The concert took place on August 11, 2018 during the Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbühl. Originally a black metal band, they were then considered traitors to their own genre. Nowadays Norwegians are mainly one thing: cult. Satyricon has been around since 1990, this veteran of Black Metal, which was originally supposed to be a quartet. But since their band members left for various reasons, Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven (vocals/guitar) and Kjetil "Frost" Haraldstad (drums) have been rocking out on their own, bringing guest musicians into the happily rotating lineup.

Every year, in the middle of Croatia, it's the same story: after the annual snowmelt, a huge flood wave spills out of the Alps toward Zagreb and Belgrade. This leads to an increase in the River Sava's water levels of some ten meters. In the species-rich, alluvial flood forests of the last major meadow landscapes of the continent, enormous predatory fish like the catfish lie in wait for prey.
Fertile Floods: Croatia's Wetlands
Third feature by Mexican-Swiss filmmaker Pablo Sigg who has been working since 2010 on a two-part fiction project, Lamaland, in Nueva Germania, Paraguay. It stars aging brothers Friedrich and Max Josef Schweikhart, direct descendants of the Utopian community imagined by Richard Wagner and established at the end of the 19th century by Nietzsche's sister Elisabeth. Due to her 'South American stubbornness', her brother called her, not without sarcasm, 'Llama'.

Hawks, buzzards, and eagles have conquered every habitat on earth, from the dry arid south to the cool and moist river valleys, to the world's coasts, and all the way up to the sparse high mountains. Some of them, like the incredibly versatile hawk, can even hunt in the forest. All birds of prey sustain themselves through hunting, and they do so with effortless beauty and efficiency.

Inspired by the Black feminist tradition of quilting, Natasha A. Kelly’s film Milli’s Awakening brings together the voices of eight Black German women of different generations. Through their artistic practices all of them have found a way to define a self-determined position within white German mainstream society. The result is a documentary that simultaneously reflects the diversity and connectivity of their (her-)stories. (Adapted from Berlin Biennale synopsis)

"My parents were never a couple." Even before Carlotta Kittel was born, her parents had already separated. She grew up with her mother and occasionally visited her father. As a child, she somehow came to terms with this situation. But this 'somehow' is not a situation that Carlotta Kittel wants to settle for today. She interviews her parents separately and then confronts each of them with the views of the other. Step by step, question by question, the story of a childhood and a family that never existed unfolds. It is about contradictions, long-suppressed feelings and questions that were never asked.

The small Portuguese coastal town of Nazaré is unique in Europe. It became the Olympus of surfing in the 2010s. Monster waves roll ashore here between late autumn and spring. They are the largest in the world, so Nazaré is a hotspot for big wave surfers such as the German professional Sebastian Steudtner, the only German extreme athlete in this field who belongs to the world's elite. The giant waves are spectacular, but they are also extremely dangerous. They have given the former fishing port a new boom, because the activities of the surfers now attracts tourists in droves to the place even in winter. But accidents with serious injuries occur again and again. The documentary shows how the coastal town is handling the new attraction and how Sebastian Steudtner is preparing for a new record ride on the biggest wave on earth.

A city, a cinema, and a reluctant farewell. In 2017, in the city of Constance on Lake Constance, Europe’s largest chain of drugstores opened the city’s fifth branch store: more diapers, more toothpaste and more toiletries for the local residents and the consumer tourists from Switzerland. Until the year 2016, the premises were reserved for film culture, this was the location of the former “Scala Film Palace”. When Douglas Wolfsperger returns to the magical site of his cinematic socialization, the public opposition to this pending closure is in full swing. The filmmaker becomes witness to the final rebellion of a dying art house cinema, speaks to passionate film enthusiasts and matter-of-fact city administrators about loss and expansion, the increase in pleasure and trade, intransparent vested interests and advantageous business situations. Inner cities and cultural concepts change – in Constance and everywhere else. But who decides how and for whom?
Scala Adieu - Von Windeln verweht
The bell tower of the Curon church rises from the waters of Lake Resia, in the Venosta Valley in South Tyrol, Italy. It stands as a lonely, silent witness to the horrible tragedy that befell Graun (Curon) and Reschen (Resia) in 1950, when both villages — with their unique natural and cultural landscape — were submerged by the waters of the newly-built Resia dam and water reservoir. This documentary film project aims to give a voice to the tragedy’s last contemporary witnesses.

Last month, Gzuz released his second solo album, "Wolke 7" (Cloud 7). Just two or three months prior, he was on tour with his entire crew, traveling throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for the entire month of March. The sheer scale of their success becomes even more apparent when you consider the venues where the five Hamburg natives now perform. They couldn't find a single venue that didn't hold at least 1,000 people. In their hometown, even the local sports arena was too small to accommodate all their fans, so the concert was moved to the Barclaycard Arena. But it's not just the size of the venues that has changed: they're also now wowing audiences with an amazing stage design, which recreates a section of their neighborhood (including a tattoo parlor). We followed the guys to their concerts in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, and Hanover and found out where the best hiding places are on the tour bus.
