A Rats Arse

Sitting at the intersection of two main arteries of traffic on Melbournes Northside is a giant yellow rat that is pointing, with a long gnarled claw, to its explicitly large bottom. This yellow rat is the mascot for the small business Glenlyon Motors. This unusual mascot and the absence of an explanation for its existence has many residents of Melbournes north side puzzled. 'A Rats Arse' finally answers the question on every Northside residents lips - “Why?!” - and along the way reveals something about identity, values, community, and the people who exist within them.

I Love You Very Much

Popular films navigate the dishonesties of the cinematic romance. Serial killers and their cohorts read segmented love letters from Orson Wells, James Joyce, and Johnny Cash. Pornography plays to a despondent song that breaks through the fantasy of these maladaptive rom coms. And the hoax that is compulsory heterosexuality is laid bare. The sale of traditional romance as a sleight of hand under male supremacy is unveiled to simply be the normalization of both a soft and hard form of violence.

Children of the Iron Snake

A biopic of the Melbourne street art scene from 30 years ago to now, from railways junctions at night to festivals, abandoned factories, rooftops drains and galleries. Interview with over 15 artists, as well as criminologists, anti-graffiti activists, politicians, architects & more, coupled with a soundtrack ft. Promoe, RJD2, Bias B, Portico Quartet, Vivaldi & many more. It's a story that's been here since the beginning of time. You've seen on the walls of your homes, the sides of your trains, as you drive through streets by rooftops, billboards and drains. It's the biggest art movement of our time. The streets have become a gallery since the cave painting is now collective.

Goody Goody Gumdrops

Set over three days, Goody Goody Gumdrops is an absurd, comic observational musical documentary cum live album launch for Tropical Fuck Storm’s new album Deep States. Situated deep in Central Victoria on the banks of the Goulburn River at TFS HQ, we follow the band as they prepare for a rock show in their barn. Referencing the feel of the Australian Western and Australian Gothic (see Wake in Fright, The Cars That Ate Paris and Picnic at Hanging Rock) we travel with the band through their abject, weird and beautiful space. The weekend starts as the band welcomes you into their studio/cocktail lounge and teach you how to make their signature drink, The Tropical Fuck Fizz, then entertain you, Rat Pack style.

Everest - Sea to Summit

In 1990 Macartney-Snape returned once again to Mt Everest with the idea of climbing the mountain from the sea to the summit. The idea had originally been floated by adventure cameraman Michael Dillon. With sponsorship provided by Australian Geographic amongst others, it would take Macartney-Snape three months to achieve this goal. This was the first time anyone had walked from sea level and reached the top of Mt Everest, as even the first expeditions started from Kathmandu, at 1400m above sea level. Although Macartney-Snape planned climbing Everest via the more difficult West Ridge, bad weather and strong avalanche risk changed his plans and he finally ascended via the South Col route.
