This film follows the daily life of the training center of AS Saint-Etienne, one of the historical clubs of French soccer, over a year. Surrounded by coaches, educators and other employees of the club, these teenagers from different sociological and geographical backgrounds, often far from their families, receive a sports and academic education as well as the rules of community life. Through the daily observation of the work of the coaches, players and all the employees of this institution, the film attempts to show the human relations, to detect the paradoxes of this place whose concern of efficiency and profitability, enters in contradiction with its educational mission, as well as with the social and working-class identity of the city which it represents.

It shines bright white on Hamburg's Inner Alster: the façade of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has been freshly painted to mark the 125th anniversary of the world-class luxury hotel. The whole of Hamburg has come to celebrate the legendary hotel's birthday. On February 24, 1897, the Swabian Friedrich Haerlin bought the bankrupt, narrow hotel with eleven rooms on the Alsterbassin at auction. Thanks to ingenious acquisitions and great skill as a hotelier, the hotel became one of the leading international hotels and a Hanseatic institution under its owner.

Above a voice reads, almost like a litany, Meister Eckhart's prayer. Is it in death that that annihilation of the will in relation to the One occurs? Is it in the event of death that we are definitively reunited with the One, becoming a uniform mass with one another, thus ceasing to be a numerable unity and mutating into a space in which everything is reunited?

“You’re 15-22 years old, you want to sing in a musical, sign up to ozu.com”. A young man shouts this announcement into a megaphone and stars fall on the streets of the city. About fifteen young people, mostly girls, and a handful of boys, go through the casting process. They stop in front of Jacques Meilleurat’s camera to sing a song a cappella or accompanied by a guitar or ukulele. Stars is the continuation of their performances, cruelly captured in the summer light. It’s simple and moving, carried by the humble gift of these faces and voices risking everything in the raw, pure present moment of their singing.
