At 6:00 in the morning on the 1st day of January in 2013 80-year-old film-maker IM Kwon-taek started shooting his 102nd film, after his unintentional 5 years’ break. I visited the shooting scene with my camera and had stayed there until the end of that year. I’ve always wanted to record IM’s shooting scene, as I believed that there we could find his secret manual which reflects the master’s large experience. I’ve been through heavy snow to witness funeral scene. I’ve also been to the west coast to follow funeral cortege in the film. It was an experience to put the life in the frame alongside with the death. When the next spring came, the shooting finally ended.

In 2016, after the hate-fuelled murder of a woman in Gangnam, young feminists gathered to talk about their experiences, which led to the ‘tsunami’ of the feminist movement reawakening in Korean society. This tsunami included street protests against misogynistic hate crimes, political campaigning in the upcoming presidential elections, protests against sexism and sexual violence in everyday life, and the ‘black’ protests calling for the abolition of the anti-abortion law. The Fearless And Vulnerable focuses on the activities and members of the Feminist Party (known in Korean as “Femidangdang”), a feminist group that was part of this tsunami wave. The pleasure and sincerity with which they conduct their activities are compounded with their courage in the face of conflict, and the sense of fear that permeates the community. The film shows Femidangdang meetings as well as the daily lives and thoughts of members during their activities post-2016.

An intimate 7-year journey of a family struggling to overcome past wounds of reverse migration (from Canada to Korea) begins when the director's little sister decides to be an un-wed single mom. The little sister decides to raise the child in Canada as she never felt welcome in her parent's homeland, South Korea. The lives of parents, intertwined with Korea's modern history is revealed, while family members try to come together to face the challenges of raising a new baby outside of the traditional family form. What starts out as the director's personal journey of re-discovering the lives of family members and self, evolves into broader themes of cultural differences, identity, and belonging.

YAMASITA Youngae heads for Kyoto to give a lecture on how former prostitute-turned-comfort women were left out of the movement to achieve justice for comfort women. Korean professor PARK Yu-ha is sued by former comfort women because of her book Comfort Women of the Empire. Reportage writer KAWADA Fumiko Tells the story of BAE Bonki, a Korean who worked as a comfort woman in Okinawa. Shuttling between the issue of sex workers who refuse to be pictured as victims and the issue of comfort women who couldn’t even be acknowledged as victims, the film reveals stories that had disappeared from official memory.

A young girl finds her ideal type in a small bathhouse which runs by her mother. She is strongly attracted to something and awaits her. It is not possible to know whether the women's scent, which she has not yet had, is yearning for her.

The essential human desire always exists within. This obsession and desire are expressed in different situations. Through each door, humans can observe their desires. I would like to express love, knowledge, appearance, sense, and freedom using different technologies. An audience can achieve objectification just by observing and humbly accepting those desires.

Sir Choi and his son Wan, are in an exile. Wan gets engaged with Seol there, but as Sir Choi has been granted an amnesty, he goes to Seoul, deserting his daughter-in-law despite Wan's sincere request to bring her to Seoul. Wan wins the first place of the state examination and gets married with Beo-Deul, a daughter of the prime minster. Seol who got killed by Sir Choi when she came to Seoul to meet Wan, scares Wan out of wits every night with her mother's ghost. Beo-Deul succeeds in recovering Wan's health with the help of some old monk, but in the end, Wan and his father Choi get killed, being seduced by Seol's ghost.

Hwang Yong lost his father by Japanese army when he was a little boy. He is making a living by killing people as a hired killer when he is asked to find out a buddhist statue from Independence Army. He goes to a pub to kill Wang Pung, the statue is not there, though. Inevitably Hwang Yong has to live in that pub where he falls in love with a barmaid Wi-Rang. But Kaneda and his gang kill Wi-Rang when Hwang Yong is out of the pub. Hwang Yong happened to know that Kaneda is the very Japanese who killed his father when he goes to Kaneda's haunt to defeat them in anger. He takes a vengeance on him and gives Independence fund disguised as a buddhist statue back to the Independence Army. He quietly dies after disclosing he is Korean, too.

A newlywed wife, Ji-sun moves to her husband's village in a rural area called Sambatgol where it is customary to have glossy charades, incompetence is prolific, and thus poverty is endemic. She starts to endeavor to break down all these vices. Her family and neighbors point accusing fingers at her first, but soon they are influenced by her to combine forces with her. In the meantime, longtime absent father of Gang-du returns to hids wife, who is Ji-sun's strong supporter and the chairperson of the village women's association. Gang-du's father, however, turns out to be an espionage agent sent from North Korea. He makes his mind up to denounce himself by persuasion of his wife, but he and his wife get killed by other espionage agents. At the funeral of these two, Ji-sun and the village people march in resolution of succeeding her will to make more endeavors in the developmental plan of the village.

Seoul, under a drizzling spring rain; Korea is under the rule of Japan. A gisaeng(Korean geisha) named Jeong-ok (Ju Jeung-nyeo) and Myeong-gyu (Lee Min), the son of a bank president, fall in love. However, the bank president, Lee Eun-jik (Kim Seung-ho), placing importance on family background, objects to his son's relationship because of Jeong-ok's occupation. However, Myung-gyu leaves home and sets up a home with Jeong-ok. When Myung-gyu dies, Jeong-ok has his baby, named Yeong-gu (Park Geum-hui). When Eun-jik brings Yeong-gu home to raise him as the family's successor, he becomes impressed with the close relationship between mother and son, finally bringing Jeong-ok into his household and accepting her as his daughter-in-law.

The kids living in a village with an incineration plant start collecting marbles coming from nowhere. They think those mysterious things would make their wishes come true. This program features three digital short films by Asian filmmakers. Singapore veteran filmmaker Eric Khoo's NO DAY OFF (39 min) records the life of a maid who leaves her husband and baby for Singapore. Darezhan Omirbayev's ABOUT LOVE (38 min) is a bitter love story based on Anton Chekhov's novel, in which a lonely math teacher falls in love with her married university classmate. Pen-ek Ratanaruang's TWELVE TWENTY (30 min) depicts the encounters of a man and a woman on a long haul flight, where they spend the next twelve hours and twenty minutes reading, drinking, eating and watching movies and sleeping by each other's side, as if they are a married couple.

Do-kyung struggles to get ahead, while Byeong-tae already fell behind a long time ago. A dejected youth, Do-kyung juggles her studies and part-time work at a convenience store. Now Jeong-ho becomes suspicious about his lifelong lifestyle, and the suspicion grows as his body grows.

Dr. Kojubu, a wizard, creates an abominable monster with the intention of ruling the world with evil and sends the monster into the world. By chance, the ghosts invade the country house where Young-gu lives, and then enter the body of the sleeping ones and manipulate them.

Part time taxi driver and full time bum Ki-hoon lives one day at a time. His only wish is to live happily ever after with Hyun-hee. One day, Ki-hoon runs over a man while driving at dawn and it is only the beginning of his troubles. That same day, before the car accident, a corrupt businessman's mistress and her lover are hiding in a hotel room after having taken off with the man's dirty funds. But their happiness is short lived when things go haywire due to the man's cronies, cops and mistaken identities. As hitmen, cops, and the two lovers get entangled, one of them runs out with the money. But soon he runs into Ki-hoon's taxi and the man is killed on the spot. Ki-hoon thinks his luck has changed for the best when discovers the cash and leaves it in the care of Hyun-hee as she works her shift in a convenience store. Now the hitmen and the cops are hot on the trail of Ki-hoon. The paths of these unfortunate individuals come to a head at the convenience store.

Young-Jae (Ryu Soo-Young) was involved in a car accident two years ago. He lost his memory from the accident. Now, Young-Hae runs a used bookstore and appears like an ordinary guy, but he has a certificate for passing the bar exam in his desk. While Young-Jae was in the hospital nobody visited him and he didn't have any numbers saved in his cellphone. He has been totally isolated. One day, a parcel is delivered to Young-Jae. In the parcel, there is Young-Jae's old wallet containing a photo of a smiling woman. The parcel does not have a sender listed. Soo-A (Nam Bo-Ra) is an 18-year-old who acts likes she knows everything. She expresses to Young-Jae that she likes him. With Soo-A's help, Young-Jae tries to find the woman in the picture.

In the documentary "Fantastic Modern Gayagumer" - Jung Min-A is the first gayageum singer-songwriter in clubs near Hongik University, Seoul. She calls herself a modern gayageumer. During the day she works as a customer supporter rep. and at night plays in the clubs around Hongik. Jung Min-A released her first album "Sangsamong" in 2006 and it sold more than 10,000 copies. She started to get some recognition in the media and public. To inspire herself for her second album, Jung Min-A embarks on a 15 day street performance tour in the summer of 2009. Along with Jung Min-A, bandmates Yang Hyun-Mo (percussionist), Kwak Jae-Hoon (bass), and Kim Bo-Kyung join her for the tour. Kim Bo-Kyoung used to work as a marketing manger at Sony Music, but quit her job to work with Jung Min-A. Her beautiful gayageum performance begins...
