Courage for (un-disabled) Lust - A Journey to Self-worth through Pleasure

‘The body that I had long considered unattractive suddenly discovers its sexuality,’ says Rike, the protagonist of the documentary, who lives with Möbius syndrome. In the film, we follow her journey to regain confidence and acceptance of her body, which begins with the experience of a paid sex service. Thanks to sexworker Ben Nordmann, Rike learns a new perspective on her body, pleasure and intimacy. The documentary sensitively addresses the sexuality of people with disabilities, showing how they are often denied the opportunity to explore and satisfy their own needs.

Terry Hall At The BBC

When Terry Hall died in December 2022, at the age of 63, we lost one of British music’s most influential, unpredictable and adored singer-songwriters of recent times. Here, take a trip into the BBC’s archives to look back on Terry’s extraordinary, genre-hopping career - from his early, decade-defining days as front man with The Specials, to Fun Boy Three, The Colourfield and his acclaimed solo career. Along the way, there were also multiple collaborations, ranging from Mark Ronson to Bananarama, the best of which are captured here in performances of hits including Gangsters, Thinking of You, Sense and Our Lips Are Sealed from shows like Top of the Pops, Whistle Test, Live in Session for BBC 6 Music, Glastonbury, the pioneering Oxford Road Show – and even some Cheggers Plays Pop. What shines through in these performances is Terry’s love of all kinds of music and his desire to never stand still and always try something different.

Leys, l'homme qui a déshabillé Mao

Simon Leys (born Pierre Ryckmans) was the first and most lucid denouncer of Maoist crimes, which caused the deaths of 60 to 100 million people. His book "The New Clothes of Chairman Mao," published in 1971, remains a reference on the subject. Paying tribute for the first time to this sinologist of astonishing culture, this "committed spectator" who looked the reality of Maoism squarely in the face, this film also tells the story of the price this man paid for his courage: immense loneliness. This documentary clearly shows the huge gap between what Leys sees in China and the revolutionary tune being played in the Latin Quarter. On the one hand, Simon Leys describes a Machiavellian Mao, cynical and drunk with power, who plunges the country into bloody chaos. On the other hand, in the West, young leftists and brilliant intellectuals blinded by propaganda dream of a perfect red Orient, of a pure revolution.

Happy life of misery

Despite the suffering of a land in which nothing was coming out of the blue, and even less water, the inhabitants of Ablitas, a small village in the south of Navarre (Spain), managed to make a living through effort and hard work. This also led to the formation of a particular character through which they learnt how to see the good side of things and enjoy even in the worst situations. This documentary contains the last testimonies of some of those who had a HAPPY LIFE OF MISERY.

House of Cars

A UFO lands in Brandenburg: The American car manufacturer Tesla is building a huge factory in the quaint town of Grünheide. With the announcement, controversy arrives, quickly derailing any sense of objectivity in the debate. While some celebrate the economic upswing or even hope to combat climate change, others are alarmed by Tesla’s lax adherence to building regulations in the middle of a drinking water protection zone. Excitement and outrage both grow as Tesla also plans to expand the factory site. As local resistance feels betrayed by decision-makers, the AfD senses an opportunity. An entertaining yet unsettling case study of our culture of political debate and the overwhelming nature of the climate crisis in the microcosm of Grünheide.
