Wolfgang Ramsbott's first film for the Literary Colloquium Berlin (LCB): "Technische Universität Berlin" is a kind of image film for the Technical University of Berlin, where Walter Höllerer, director of the LCB, taught as professor of literary studies. But the experimental filmmaker Ramsbotts was hardly interested in the institution itself: his camera rather feasted on the rattling, flashing and hissing machines. As head of the film department, Ramsbott realised mainly experimental documentaries on literary themes in the following years.

Without knowing it, Johnny, a young rock musician, finds himself involved with a Parisian drug gang. Realising he is being set up, he throws the drugs into the Seine and takes refuge in the Camargue with his family and his fiancée, Gigi. Meanwhile, the dealers are hot on their heels.

In all of his work, Bussotti makes frequent reference to the body, to sexuality. This to remind musicians — especially classically trained ones — that they are not body-less angels, that they are not just their musical thoughts, that they are still, in the last analysis, flesh and bones. Thus the erotic is not for shocking, but to stress that making music involves the body in a very direct way.

A noble family assigns their younger son to the convent. The youngster has an affair with a novice, who becomes pregnant. The brothers, exasperated by his arrogance, denounce him to the Inquisition. As a punishment, the boy is walled up alive and released after fifty years. Due to a mysterious miracle, however, he remained as he is, just like the novice he impaled.

Bastard son kidnaps legitimate heir in attempt to suborn their father's estate... but a surrogate comes forward to impersonate the real heir while the other problem getss resolved.

An animated cartoon on smoking and health. The villain, Old Nick O'Teen, disguises himself as an 18-year-old motorcyclist, the better to lure children into the cigarette habit. Fourteen-year-old Sam falls into the trap, but after awesome visions of his future, expert advice from a doctor, and straight talk from a friendly lorry-driver renounces the habit.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh undertook an official visit to the region in February 1966, as documented in this film. The destinations on this month long excursion included: British Guiana; Trinidad and Tobago; Grenada; St. Vincent; Barbados; St. Lucia; Dominica; Montserrat; Antigua; St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla; Tortola (Virgin Islands); the Bahamas; Jamaica. This rich and detailed Technicolor travelogue was the only film authorised by the Palace. Strict instructions were given prior to the production being given the green light, most notably that the royals could only be filmed when ‘engaged in a public function’. Unlike the more relaxed footage or interviews you might see with the royals now the film is visually very official in tone.

Tom and Sukie arrive in Malta to spend the holidays with their father, an archaeologist digging for a legendary golden statue of Calypso on the island of Gozo. He fails to meet the children who make friends with Jiminy, a Maltese boy, and go to the villa where they overhear two crooks threatening their father. The cooks fool the police to whom the children have gone. They escape and make their way finally to Gozo to see their father's colleague where they all captured. Just before the statue is handed over Jiminy arrives with an army of children who rout the crooks and drive them into the arms of the police. Based on the novel. By Jiminy by David Scott Daniel

When a down-at-heel, alcoholic physician discovers a medical kit, based on future technology, accidentally left in the wake of a time-travel expedition, he becomes a successful cosmetic surgeon. One day, a patient requests treatment for fibrosis and he experiments with his new kit.

Started in the summer of 1961, even before the Wall was built, the film becomes an explanation after this historical event as to why things can no longer go on as they were before. Unmistakably, as in almost all of Karl Gass' films, the passion with which he treats his subject is unmistakable. If you want to get to know the zeitgeist of the historically significant year 1961, which on both sides knew more the Cold War vocabulary than factual arguments, you can see the Eastern variant in this propaganda film.

The film tells the story of Peri, a concentration camp survivor who lives in Tel Aviv and sets out in search of his former fellow sufferer Bach.

After years of absence, Kadir returns to his hometown Semares in the center of the Arabian desert. He finds out that the new ruler Atatur is a tyrant who leads wars merely to expand his territory. After saving the life of Atatur's general Kames in an ambush, Kadir receives the opportunity to rise to high ranks in Atatur's army. But Atatur is planning a cruel war of retribution against the desert tribes of King Hussein...

The same day of their marriage, Jean's wife dies of a strange ailment in the middle of surgery. Afflicted by the loss, the young man abandons his medical studies and takes refuge in the memories of his time of courtship. At the same time that this happens, a wave of murders shakes the city with the same pattern of behavior: the victims are surgery students whose bodies have had both hands amputated.

Three men plot to assassinate the dictator of their country, but their plan fails and one of them is captured and imprisoned. Even after considerable torture and interrogation, the revolutionary maintains his silence as to the names of his accomplices. Soon he is killed, though no one seems to know who is responsible for his death. Four years later another regime has been established, and a former inmate of the dead revolutionary finds himself in a position of power. He now intends to find out who was responsible for the man's death. After this German tale first took the form of a radio play and then a stage production, character actor Peter Carsten decided to produce this film version.

This play by Henry de Montherland, takes place in 1517 and depicts the Cardinal de Cisneros, an authoritarian man approaching his end, regent of the throne of Spain oscillating between his desire for power and his tendency to inaction. Thinking himself invulnerable, he awaits the arrival of young Charles on the throne, but his beliefs will be shaken.

Historia de una batalla follows them during their activities. The film also shows how the Cuban people devoted themselves to the economic progress of the country, and how they resisted the invasion at the Bay of Pigs.

Toni is an elderly man who lives in a nursing home in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso). Every night he has a nightmare: crows attack him and peck at his face, leaving him frozen in terror. For him, the nursing home is a waiting room for death, but he still wants to live. Around him are other elderly people in bed and in the dining room.

Jean-Claude is a student, with Didier, at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Generales where Violaine, Didier's sister, is a professor of sociology. These young people belong to this upper-class, snobbish bourgeoisie.

Although Baron Arvid von Frühling travels to the fashionable spa town with his fiancée Stephanie, he soon neglects her because of the Baden-Baden Grand Prix, which he is determined to win with his racehorse Eintagsfliege. The writer Victor Duplessis, known in the town as Casanova, seizes his chance and approaches Stephanie. When Arvid finds out about this, he challenges Victor to a duel, which turns out to be a strange affair: In the end, the two become friends. Arvid, who then dumps Stephanie, gets Victor to give him tips on how to seduce her, and soon they are both involved with the beautiful Margot. When the charming Charlotte arrives at the race, the love chaos is perfect.

'L'ultimo pugno di terra' (The Last Fistful of Land) is a 1966 documentary film directed by Fiorenzo Serra about the anguish and instability of the lower classes in a destitute Sardinia. Originally commissioned by the Sardinian regional government as a celebratory piece on the 'miraculous' effects of the 'Piano di Rinascita della Sardegna' (Sardinia's Rebirth Plan), the film instead shows an island still 'standing still in time', barely affected by the painful oxymoron of the inevitable changes taking place.

The future. The TAU-mode shuttle carries passengers to Australia through the earth's crust. When a routine TAU-shuttle becomes entombed in solid rock miles under the earth, the only means of rescue is the experimental LAMBDA-mode shuttle; which its creator is unsure about.

Through an intrigue, Franz Moor manages to have Karl, his brother, disinherited and disowned. He then founds a band of robbers and becomes their captain. Franz wants to win over Karl's fiancée Amalia and fakes Karl's death, and later the death of his father, whom he has locked up in a tower. Karl has to answer for ever greater crimes committed by his gang and increasingly doubts his decision. Plagued by longing, he leads the gang to his father's castle, where he speaks to Amalia once again in disguise. He frees his father from the dungeon, but he dies of fright when he learns that his son has become a criminal. Franz commits suicide when the robbers storm the castle. As Karl has conspired to the death of his gang, a happy future with Amalia is out of the question; under these circumstances, Amalia wishes him dead. Karl kills her, renounces his gang and his life of crime and hands himself over to the law.
