Mr. Szulski arrives and the debts are settled - with money supposedly stemming from an inheritance. The next day, Szulski departs but according to the maid and the stable-boy, behaves in a very strange manner. Soon afterwards, his carriage is discovered in the Oder River, but there is no trace of the drowned man. Hradscheck's neighbor starts casting suspicion on the innkeeper. Invisible Adversaries

Anna, an artist, is obsessed with the invasion of alien doubles bent on total destruction. Her schizophrenia is reflected in the juxtapositions of long movie camera takes with violently edited montages: private with public spaces; black & white with colour, still photographs with video, earsplitting sounds with disruptive camera angles. Anna uses her body like a map; after a devastating quarrel with her lover, she paints red stitches on herself. Watching their scenes together, we realize how seldom, if ever before, the details of sexual intimacy have been shown in film from the point of view from a woman. Export privileges rupture over unity and never settles for one-dimensional solutions

Tapetenwechsel

Marcel Schlurfke is not exactly the heartthrob that friends Elke and Gitte are looking for. So they think about how to get rid of this annoying admirer. The best way is to put him in a position where he makes a fool of himself. This is what happens to the aforementioned Marcel, who suffers a total shipwreck with his "cooking skills". And after this failure, Marcel can only place himself in the care of his father Wollermann.Elke's father is a very desirable man in certain respects: in his spare time, he likes to wallpaper and transform worn-out rooms into pretty rooms. For Elke herself, however, this is a problem, because her father repeatedly takes possession of her (desired) admirers and promotes her to "honorary helper" in wallpapering matters. Only Marcel Schlurfke proves his touchingly helpless clumsiness in these assignments too.

The Indomitable Leni Peickert

The Indomitable Leni Peickert is a loose, half-hour sequel to Alexander Kluge's second feature film, Artists in the Big Top: Perplexed. This shorter work, seemingly assembled from leftover footage from the longer film, continues the story of the circus owner Leni Peickert after she first abandoned her idea of a radical circus in favor of a job in television. It opens where the previous film left off, at a TV station where Leni and her friends have gathered as employees, attempting to infiltrate the corporate establishment with their own revolutionary ideas.
