Alors je fais des chansons

Jean-Luc le Tenia (1975-2011) is the author of more than 1,300 songs, produced in a hurry, minimalist and melancholic. Becoming a true legend during his lifetime in Le Mans, the singer is considered the French Daniel Johnston. From his complex relationships with others, particularly with women, and from his deep psychological suffering, he created songs that many still sing. In this film, enriched by archives and interviews with those who knew him, historian Hervé Guillemain reconstructs the influences, practices and singular journey of a multifaceted artist by placing him in the history of French song and the alternative punk movement, in the landscapes of the city of Le Mans. Between art, psychology and history, Alors je fais des chansons is a film which, by observing the creative process on an individual level, ultimately questions the notion of art brut.

One Day

A poetic short film exploring queer friendship, emotional distance, and healing. Built around Campbell’s spoken-word poem, the film reflects on the experience of taking a break from a close friendship, capturing both heartbreak and hope. Visually, it uses layered drawn text that builds to a chaotic crescendo before dissolving—mirroring the rise and fall of intense emotional connections. Celebrating queer joy and vulnerability, the film embraces public expressions of love and self-acceptance. Deeply personal yet widely relatable, One Day has resonated with audiences as a moving tribute to compassion, resilience, and queer visibility.

El ressò de la mirada

A documentary about the weight of filming pain, the guilt of those who observe it, and the responsibility of showing it. Based on a shoot in Gaza ten years ago, the director revisits discarded images, direct looks at the camera, and uncomfortable moments that question his profession, his vocation, and the transformative power of images in a world insensitive to their overexposure. That gaze continues to resonate years later, amid helplessness, memory, and denunciation.

Wild Tuamotus

The infinity of the Pacific Ocean: It makes up almost a third of the earth's surface. The inhabitants are constantly looking for food and shelter. There are only a few places of refuge in this water desert and yet here - in the infinite blue - there is an oasis. Halfway between America and Australia lies the Tuamotu Archipelago, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. "Tuamotu" could be translated as "The Distant Islands". The archipelago, consisting of 76 atolls, is difficult to reach and far away from any trade routes.

One Sour Sweet End

I hate Kodak color negatives. I promised myself I'd never buy them, but in a batch of film I found two of these cartridges, so I decided to test myself. At first, I had the idea of using them only to capture a year's worth of sunsets edited in camera, but then I realized how pointless it was to limit myself. Two Rhine maidens debut in my prelude. The first (cartridge) is bitter, the second is much sweeter. Both are connected although for different reasons to my feature film "Shadow of the Valley." One introduces it, the other puts an end to it. It took me a little less than a year to finish filming this short, perhaps because I didn't believe in it at all.
