Longwave

It is April 1974 and Julie Dujonc-Renens, young feminist journalist and the cunning Joseph-Marie Cauvin, leading reporter for the Swiss radio, have been sent to Portugal to investigate Switzerland’s aid to poor countries. Sparks fly during the bus trip with Bob, sound engineer approaching retirement. The projects financed by Switzerland prove to be calamitous and the workers’ revolution that suddenly breaks out doesn’t help, obliging our heroes to disregard first the radio’s management, and then their own codes of conduct.

Premiers à l’Everest

In 1924, British climber George Mallory and his partner Andrew Irvine attempted to conquer Everest for the third time. They never returned. In 1999, German geologist Jochen Hemmleb discovered Mallory's body just below the summit, reigniting speculation. In 2010, he organized a new expedition to follow up on this sensational discovery. His goal: to find the base camp from which Mallory and Irvine set out to conquer the summit.

Gérard Courant collected and edited the rushes from this filming and made five films. The first, Régis Audigier, le Christ de Burzet, is an encounter with Régis Audigier, farmer and interpreter of the Christ of the Passion of Burzet.

Akaboum

In the Parisian suburbs, a group of adolescents wander, looking for a rave party. The city’s peripheral architecture goes by like the setting of a retro futuristic adventure gone wrong; the governmental utopia of the housing estates, the laminated dream of the Euro Disney Park, the playgrounds and sports areas now used as spaces for getting high. The Parisian suburbs are thus revealed like the theatre of a failed political project, which has only intensified the differences between the deprived neighbourhoods and the city centre. However, the youth filmed by Manon Vila is not defeated.

A Little Nightmare Music

The concert begins. The music is sublime. Not even a pin would dare drop. Suddenly, a cellphone rings and the madness starts. The pianist loses his hand, the violinist, while tuning, falls asleep, and later wakes up in the middle of a motorway, transformed into a “Riverdancer”. When the pianist returns, the piano is locked, telling him to insert his credit card. Meanwhile, the violinist loses his bow to a vacuum cleaner and his partner just talks on the phone while reading a paper, eating, and, playing the piano upside down all at the same time. These and many other “nightmares” unfold before audiences’ eyes and ears. “A Little Nightmare Music” is a unique show, full of virtuosity, enchanting music and zany, outrageous humour. Ideal for audiences aged 8 to 88, this show is sure to captivate you and crack you up whether you’re a classical music enthusiast or the type who runs for cover, at the mere mention of Mozart.
