Goodbye Breasts!

Following a double mastectomy, Joanna reclaims her body in the most unexpected ways—building a giant inflatable breast, devising song-and-dance routines inspired by post-surgery exercises, and throwing a party to celebrate breasts. Her journey is not just one of physical healing but also a powerful exploration of body acceptance and resilience. Through a blend of self-shot footage, animation, and archival clips, the film brings humour and heart to the sensitive topic of breast cancer recovery. Joanna’s imaginative outlook shines through as she revisits her treatment, reconnects with family, and meets other survivors to share stories. Along the way, she faces the emotional toll of illness, navigates her own transformation, and demonstrates the power of creativity as a tool for survival.

Bunker

Shot on 35mm film and hand-developed on negative stock, this abstract experimental animation immerses the viewer in the psychological atmosphere of life inside a bunker. Through distorted visuals and fragmented rhythms, it explores the blurred line between physical confinement and mental unraveling. As the shelter becomes a pressure chamber of the soul, hallucinations and inner fears begin to seep through the cracks. The film is less a narrative than a sensory experience — a descent into the emotional and perceptual dissonance of isolation.

Soil Is Life: Weaving the Threads Between Soil, Farming, Food and Fibre

The delicate structures of our soils have been damaged by the extractive practices of industrial farming in ways that affect our food, our health and that of the planet. Humans have the ability to heal our soils by practising regenerative techniques that produce nutrient-dense food, sequester carbon in the ground and nurture essential biodiversity. We have the power to be part of this story by choosing to support those who care for the soil whether producing food or fibre. Healthy soil, healthy people, healthy planet.

Louise

A huge success when it premiered at the Opéra-Comique in 1900, Gustave Charpentier’s (1860-1956) “musical novel in four acts and five scenes” was panned by the critics, who considered its depiction of female desire and its heroine’s rebellion against her family to be scandalous. In this new reading, Christof Loy (Salomé) – famous for his meticulous productions, precise direction and refined aesthetic – has detected beneath the innovative theme of female emancipation an unspoken aspect of Charpentier’s libretto: the toxic family relationship in which Louise finds herself trapped, and the hold that her possessive – even abusive – father exerts over her with the complicity of her mother. Keen to tell the story without judging the characters, the director draws the audience into Louise’s subconscious, highlighting the darker side of a society that, far from emancipating its daughters, only offers them cheap romance as a deflection from the frustrations of their limited prospects.
