Break in the Clouds

Maika, a pregnant woman, is running along a farm road at night with nothing but her clothes on her back. Her beaten face is discolored, one eye is swollen, and she is bleeding from the edge of her mouth. The headlights of a car approaching from behind frightens Maika, and she loses her balance and falls. Just as she is about to get up, her cell phone rings. It's a call from Masayoshi, her abusive husband. Out of fear, Maika knocks the phone to the ground and breaks it. Slowly, she picks herself up and continues walking down the street at night. She arrives at a love hotel hidden in the suburbs of a provincial city.

A Chocolate and a Press Operation

In July 1982, a month after the capitulation of Argentine troops in the Falklands war with Great Britain, GENTE magazine published on the cover a photo of a boy who had sent a letter and a chocolate to an anonymous soldier. His letter and chocolate would never reach the recipient, the chocolate being later sold at a kiosk in the Argentinian town of Comodoro Rivadavia. 38 years later, Gustavo Vidal, the chocolate boy, embarks on a journey to reconstruct the story that moved, in its time, Argentines deceived by the press before, during and after the armed conflict with the United Kingdom.

Maradona: The Fall

One of world football's biggest names is the focus of a new documentary on DAZN. When it comes to discussing who are the greatest players to ever lace up a pair of boots, Diego Maradona is one of those names which is immediately placed towards the top of many lists. The Argentine was a player whose light feet and personality saw him gain many fans across the world, along with a religious-like following in Argentina.  But despite his success on the pitch which included a World Cup triumph and two Serie A titles with Napoli, Maradona was someone who often found himself associated with the darker sides of society off it.  During his time at Napoli, there were frequent links to the mafia, along with an addiction to drugs.  This all came to a head at the 1994 World Cup in the USA when Maradona testsed positive ephedrine. The fallout from this seismic event is the focus of a new documentary

Until We Meet at Dawn

In the pitch-black night, a thread of light slowly appeared on the horizon, reflecting shimmering patterns on the waves; it was the dawn wandering and drifting across the ocean, illuminating the path for sailors returning home. Before navigation systems existed, those who went to sea relied on lighthouses to recognize each coastline. By the frequency of a lighthouse's flashing, sailors knew land was nearby, and home was not far away. With a glance, they could tell the direction of home. The lighthouse has stood on the island for over a hundred years, always lighting the way for those returning. To the wanderers far away, and to the lighthouse guiding the way by the shore.
