The Chungmuro Don Quixote

Mass starvation and social disorder is the norm in the wake of the Korean War. Hwa-su works as a gofer at a local theater but dreams of owning one day a theater of his own. As an adult, Hwa-su becomes a protege of powerful businessman Sohn Jong-rok and marries his niece thus becoming an heir to Sohn's business. He takes over the Je-il Theater and re-names it Peace Theater. Achieving his childhood dream is the just the beginning for Hwa-su. He ventures into the world of filmmaking. Ba-Wool is a student at Daemyung High School which is Christian School. Every morning, a hymn resounds throughout the high school. Ba-Wool is a student president, but he is also non-Christian. He is unable to accept the required religious services and classes that all students have to attend. Ba-Wool talks to the principal, but the principal doesn't listen to Ba-Wool. Making things worse, Ba-Wool's only counselor, the school chaplain, is kicked out of the school. Ba-Wool's friends and his parents do not understand Ba-Wool. Finally, Ba-Wool refuses to take religious services and he begins a one person protest, while going on a hunger strike.

As time goes by, the right-winger plots a plan to kill all the Cheonji Party members, and while assassinating them one by one, he hears the secret story of the tattoo from a dying Cheonji Party member. On the other hand, Sunamgeom's assistant inspector captures Woopaja and hangs him on the execution ground along with Gahwa and then tells Haewol about this. Haewol appears at the execution site and fights to the death before saving her father and his fiancée.

The Threshold of Death

Dong-jin works at the immigration office, detecting illegal immigrants and entrants. He rarely meets his father, who has Alzheimer's disease, and it's awkward for him to meet his brother, Dong-seok, and his family. Nam-il, a colleague, uses his position to commit corruption and the youngest, Eun-seong, is too compassionate. He risks everything for her, but his efforts become worthless when Nam-il frames him for his irregularities and Eun-seong betrays him to protect their own family. Dong-jin loses everything and is left only with his search for Soon-bok.
