xxxHOLiC: Shunmuki is a two-DVD original video animation, entitled (xxxHOLiC 春夢記, lit. "xxxHOLiC Spring Dreams Chronicle"). The first DVD for this OVA was released on February 17, 2009 with the volume 14 of the Japanese manga. The second one was released alongside volume 15 on June 26, 2009. xxxHOLiC Shunmuki is divided into two parts. The first part is called Zenpen, and the second part is called Kōhen.

When you watch a film projected on a screen, the emulsion itself, which is a photosensitive emulsion, there's nothing to be conscious of. I like the emulsion itself. Take it as an image to emphasize the film as an object, Apply the emulsion directly to the film with a brush. Changes and unevenness appeared in thickness: dots, lines, bubbles, etc.

That house has been demolished and is now a road. It's all as if nothing had happened. The fireworks were launched. We cheered and looked up at the night sky. We were surprised and delighted in every moment, breathing like wildflowers under the night sky. And then the last fireworks were launched, and countless sparks would fall quietly like our tears. In that blinking moment, we were born, flickered as life, withered, and disappeared. The cheers would echo forever and ever as the voices of the soul, never disappearing from this earth, no, from this image. The balance between the organic nature of the vital movement that stimulates the fundamental part of human perception and the abstractness of the work's composition is pleasant. His challenge to always keep an eye on the cutting edge of video technology seems to be exploring a new animation language, and shows us the possibilities of images that can only be achieved through animation.
