The film is a free adaptation of a travelogue by Victor Segalen. In 1905, the writer described in “Les immémoriaux” the passage from the Maori world to another evangelized world. Marc Giannesine in an article published in Le Monde in 1987 wrote: “But beware, the adventure according to Segalen is a total change of life, of skin. For him, it is not a question of superficially aping the customs of the Maori, but of stripping his own culture in mind to better feel that of others. It is exoticism in the purest sense of the term, as Baudelaire understood it, an art of correspondences between the most diverse things. Henri Hiro, emblematic figure in the Pacific, of the defense of his culture, goes back in time for us by following the text of Segalen.

A mousey, mild-mannered, mid-thirties bank clerk visits a cabaret and discovers his taste for drag and for the club's techie.

As soon as they arrive at the barracks, the new contingent reveals some characters who will give their officers a hard time. There is the handsome, resourceful man, the technocrat in love, the bootlicker, the "Jamaican" who only moves to music, the shortsighted man... and all the others. Sometimes to see the nurse undress, sometimes to arrange an appointment with a fiancée, sometimes to cuckold the obtuse non-commissioned officer whose wife is volcanic, sometimes to have a free lunch in a great restaurant, the handsome man invariably deploys a wealth of cunning. And each time it is the colonel's servile driver who gets caught instead of him.

No one has any time for Moritz. And at school, things are not exactly the greatest either. Moritz runs away and moves into the inside of an advertising pillar. A speaking cat, a circus girl and a street sweeper become his new friends. Gradually, they help the young boy to realize that running away does not solve anything.

Fasia takes the audience along on her travels, with the camera following her performances and activities. We can witness how she uses her art to encourage, uplift, and inspire people.

In the hybrid form of documentary and dramatized scenes, the Barschel affair, one of the major domestic political scandals of the 1980s, is reconstructed. While the documentary scenes are reminiscent of the familiar television images of the scandal, the fictional scenes suggest to the viewer what might have happened when the cameras and microphones were turned off.

Two police officers investigate the disappearance of a store clerk. During the investigation they arrive at the house of a mysterious girl and discover that the landlady is a psychopathic murderer and that the body of the boy is in the wine cellar together with so many others. One of the two agents are hurt by the murderer, the other one succeeds in killing her/it. For Francis, the police officer survivor, is not ended: a long nightmare is about to begin.
