Ombre blanche de l'homme qui marche

In The Strange Story of Peter Schlemihl written in 1813 by Adelbert von Chamisso, out of necessity of money, the hero decides to sell his shadow to the devil; this shadow is of no use to him; as much as having money. But his life of a being without shade soon becomes unbearable; he is stigmatized as a being apart and is the laughing stock of everyone he crosses. Strange story of a being become strange. So he decides to re buy it back but for that will have to sell his soul to the devil. The shadow (black) is a double that never leaves the Being. The white shadow, negative of the previous one, is obtained by means of a china plate with bas-relief motifs and lit by the back. The expression "White Shadow" thanks to its poetic power became the title of a film by Flaherty, then the name of a bookstore, which was so flourishing that by consulting google today I could not find the origin of the word.

The Waiting Room

In 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I decided to film my time in waiting rooms, surgery and chemotherapy. Shot exclusively on the iPhone X, The Waiting Room is an unflinching portrait of the blood, sweat and tears of cancer treatment. At home I filmed with my teenage son, as we came to terms with how family life was transformed by a year of living with cancer. The Waiting Room challenges the cultural myths that surround this disease, putting under the microscope the language of illness. The Waiting Room documents illness from a patient’s POV, exploring what we can and what we can’t control when our bodies fail us. The Waiting Room 30 minute smartphone short was broadcast on The Guardian website as part of their documentaries strand.

Der ferne Klang

After many years of wandering around the world, an anxious composer chooses love over art. But it may be too late to salvage either. Der ferne Klang, his first major work, is a late Romantic opera of grand passions. Director Christof Loy is back at the Royal Swedish Opera with a production set in a dreamlike mise en scène.

Alien Gods

Our civilization as we know it emerged as if by magic. For millennia ancient man hunted and gathered but, after thousands of generations, mankind suddenly settled down and as if from nowhere. Suddenly, complex tools, art, literature, agriculture, math, astronomy and massive monuments to the gods appear out of ancient Sumeria. The same Gods the Sumerian clay tablets civilization emerged tell us had come down to Earth from heaven to give us knowledge and life. We are now discovering evidence of mankind's legacy that differs from the doctrine we've been told for millennia and that the truth is stranger than fiction. Our pantheon of Gods may themselves have been descendants from Alien beings and it's clear now that our history goes back thousands of years more than previously thought.

Both stories are full of psychological abuse and mistreatment by the director, who will bring out her deepest desires from the actress in order to merge into the character she represents: the rabbit. "Rabbit" is an experiment between the everyday and the theatrical that plays with the psychology of the viewer and its characters.

INFINITY minus Infinity

INFINITY minus Infinity draws on several inspirations: the modernist verse of the Jamaican poet Una Marson, the alluvial invocations of the Martinican philosopher and poet Édouard Glissant, the black feminist poetics of the Brazilian philosopher Denise Ferreira da Silva, and the racial formation of geology theorised by British geographer Kathryn Yusoff amongst others in order to envision a black feminist cosmos animated by the principles of mathematical nihilism.

"Politics for Austria," "Fairness," "We provide security"-election slogans that promise a return to bygone morals, adorn the city of Vienna before the Austrian national parliamentary elections in 2017. The mistrust with regard to supposed political elites, coupled with promises made by the right wing populist parties, polarize Austrian society. INLAND offers intimate insight into the lives of its protagonists and thereby draws a genre picture of their fears and hopes in complex times.
