This short documentary captures life in Filippa di Mesoraca, a little village in Calabria in southern Italy. Inspired by the migration of young people to the cities of the north, "Grigio. Terra bruciata" ("Burnt. Land of Fire") tells about what's left in the village and how the older people live the last years of their life. Just like elderly faces ravaged by time, the walls of the unfinished houses decay slowly, returning to nature. This film is about a place that transformed alongside the people who live there.

La conversione
Fabrizio is unable to explain his impotence (which occurs only with his girlfriend). One evening he stares in the mirror and, after some hesitation, shaves, sacrificing a thick and characteristic beard goatee, typical of those years. Here begins, with a simple gesture that we could define as 'unconventional', the transformation of Fabrizio. Immediately a vital impulse emerges in Fabrizio that leads him to 'want more' from a life enclosed in watertight compartments and protocol rules. The viewer is an accomplice and faithful travel companion in his process of metamorphosis, who is not asked for a judgment or an opinion, but a simple understanding and vision of history, as it is, without prejudice.

Raw materials such as wood and iron are brought back to life by the passage of air, thus generating sound, music: a magical combination of science and imagination, a physical fact that nevertheless conceals a mysterious aspect for the listener. The mechanical reproduction of this miraculous breath is ensured by skilled hands, which care for, build and restore the individual parts of the musical instrument, giving it a new lease of life. The centuries-old knowledge of the art of organ building, handed down from generation to generation, finds its home in a workshop in the district of Segariu, a small town in the Marmilla region, at the gateway to central Sardinia. Beyond the craftsmanship process there seems to be an invisible and unstoppable motion that survives the millennia: the pursuit of the breath of nature, the wind, which for the ancient Greeks (Πνεúµα) was also the spirit.

Film tells the story of Lidia Maksymowicz, a two-year-old girl, who in 1942 was imprisoned in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, where Dr. Mengele carried out his insane experiments on Jewish children. Her mother, forced to participate in a death march, swore to the child that one day she would return for her. Lidia, like all Auschwitz prisoners, was freed in January 1945 by Soviet soldiers and was given up for adoption to a Polish family. She lived out her youth thinking that her mother had died on a death march. But one day, in 1962, someone knocked at her door.
