Io ti assolvo

A quiet provincial town is shaken by the murder of its parish priest. The young Father Francesco (Gabriel Garko), who is called to replace him, after an initial moment of calm, finds himself faced with the confession of a stranger, who admits to having killed his predecessor, threatening him not to say anything if he does not want to lose his life as well. The priest, therefore, follows the investigations of Commissioner Lariano (Lorenzo Flaherty) and, while revealing nothing, tries to prevent an innocent person from being accused of a crime they did not commit and begins to uncover the secrets of various important figures in the province. Complicating matters is the arrival of a young prostitute who resembles Father Francesco's great love before he took his vows. This is how the present and the past intertwine, amid crimes and murky discoveries.

Imatra

Imatra is a Finnish town on the border with Russia in South Karelia. Bianca, a Spanish teacher, went to live and work there to escape a complicated relationship. Her ex-boyfriend joins her: his assignment is to make an industrial documentary on the preparation of wood pulp. Corso Salani is a true exception in the Italian film scene. A director and actor of undoubted quality, he is constantly committed to new projects that have originality as their main characteristic. This is the case of the series "I confini d'Europa" of which Imatra is the third chapter. Salani wants to explore places that are on the edges of that complex organism that is now the European Union.

Sister Smile

Back in late 1963, a Belgian nun known only as Soeur Sourire, or Sister Smile, topped America's pop music charts with the relentlessly cheerful tune "Dominique," from an album of 12 songs that sold 1.5 million copies. From the little that is known of the ill-fated nun's life, Italy-based American writer-director Roger Deutsch has made the boldly speculative yet persuasive Italian-language film "Suor Sorriso" in which the nun (Ginevra Colonna) emerges as a tormented, unstable woman who abruptly left the convent after her recording triumph before taking her final vows. Running a shelter for wayward girls, she and another ex-nun (Simona Caparrini) enter a passionate, tumultuous and destructive affair. Colonna's volcanic Deckers craves spiritual redemption as well as the other woman's love but is so beset by demons that she embarks on a flamboyant, drug-fueled downward spiral that ultimately engulfs her lover as well as herself.

The New American Century

"Historically accurate, narratively captivating, The New American Century is one of the best films about the facts behind the 9/11 attacks". Webster G. Tarpley "The New American Century is a stunning film. It should be seen as widely as possible, in cinemas, bars, clubs, at meetings and, of course, through the internet. I'm sure the film will continue to be a source of debate and political education for many years." Ken Loach. Massimo Mazzucco’s Inganno Globale (soon in English as "Global Deceit") presented all the major inconsistencies in the 9/11 official version, i.e. World Trade Center’s demolition, no Boeing at the Pentagon, etc., that lent credibility to the accusation by the so-called "9/11 Truth Movement" of the attacks having been an inside job. The New American Century presents the historical, philosophical, economical and political background, some of which is practically unknown to the general public, that seems to support such accusation by the 9/11 Truth Movement.
