It is a role that he came to embrace and ultimately redefine it in his own way. As the role passes on to his son, Prince William not only has to keep up the tradition of duty and hard work that the royal family has always embodied, but also prepare for his destiny to inherit the crown and become King. As the world remains on stand-by to see how Prince William will take on his new title, does he have what it takes to live up to the legacy of a 'Duchy Original'?

Christmas, Every Day

"Christmas, Every Day" gives a slice-of-life glimpse of preteen influencers Peyton and Lyla Wesson, ages 11 and 12, as they perform for their online fans under their mother’s watchful guidance. Shot in a series of highly composed, locked-off takes, the film examines everyday cultural practice under late stage capitalism, juxtaposing rural life with the patina of the virtual world. As Peyton and Lyla shift between performance and reality, ideas of self-presentation as empowerment, female confidence, and self-branding come to the fore.

Cruel, Usual, Necessary: The Passion of Silvio Narizzano

Perhaps at first glance, the filmography of Silvio Narizzano appears unremarkable. Thanks to his sleeper hit Georgy Girl (1966), he's known largely as a "one-hit wonder" director. Upon closer inspection, however, likely no other filmmaker used cinema as effectively to exorcise personal demons in ways both ugly and beautiful. And few directors' sensibilities were more gay, both overtly and covertly. Film historian Daniel Kremer is your tour guide through an obscure, perplexing body of work heretofore ignored and often unfairly shunned. Cruel, Usual, Necessary: The Passion of Silvio Narizzano is an essay documentary of discovery.

Nic Drifting

In February of 2023, Nicholas came to Berlin, exhausted from not sleeping the night before and catching a flight at the crack of dawn. I asked him to sit down and be filmed for a part of a then-gestating idea for a new film. He was interviewed on camera for about 10 minutes, and then I stopped asking questions. He was so exhausted he started to fall asleep on camera. Nearly a year later, he recorded an improvised sound piece to soundtrack the images. Now the two are finally united, to share with the public for the first time. The vignetting (and the reason I was able to zoom smoothly and quickly) is from using a C-mount lens from my Bolex on a GH4.
