Mein Fritz – Ein persönlicher Blick auf Fritz Wepper

Director, cinematographer and author Susanne Kellermann takes a very personal look at her husband Fritz Wepper. When he receives a serious cancer diagnosis in spring 2020, Susanne Kellermann begins to follow his everyday life and his work during the filming of the final episodes of "For Heaven's Sake". Fritz Wepper talks impressively about his childhood, the parallel filming of "Cabaret" and "Der Kommissar" and about dealing with the last things in life.

comme tous les garçons

A meditation on what it means to be/come like all the boys and also what it means to want to be/come like them. It navigates images and ideas of masculinity and trans masculine identity, combining found footage, illustration and personal archive in an act of assemblage that mirrors the erratic and eternal piecing together of a queer identity. The film attempts to trace a story of becoming, the active process of stitching oneself together from a myriad of starting points, whilst also laying bare the moments of conflict and interruption that occurs from this process.

Dorian: A Rock Musical

Inspired by Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" "Who am I, really?" "What is love?" Dorian Gray, the secret child of love and death is suddenly thrust into a confusing world. A world where love dare not speak its name, yet everybody is searching for it. On his search Dorian comes across the many mirrors of his soul. The dangerous and charismatic Lord Henry casts him into a hedonistic lifestyle; Sibyl Vane sees him as the Romantic lead and Lady Henry merely wants to prey on him. But it is the gentle society painter, Basil Hallward, who shows him as he truly is. On his quest to find his true identity, Dorian must decide if it is better to be loved or to be feared. When Dorian realises the painting is, in fact, a portrait of his conscience, he is horrified to see the level of corruption depicted on the canvas and decides to try to reverse time. "I would give anything for that - I would give my soul!" But is it too late?

Tonton Manu

Manu Dibango is eighty years old. Smiling like a kid, he blows out his birthday cake candles, followed by applause. An hour and half later, he is eighty-five years old. Between these two milestone birthdays, the film directors followed in the day to day footsteps of this smiling, debonair giant; for whom the expression, "quiet strength" seems to have been coined. Composer, musician, journalist, an ambassador of the Francophone world, honoured and distinguished around the world; Manu Dibango has remained himself wherever he may find himself.

La Vita Olistica

Gaining ideology from their last album Disco Volodar, the short film uses the core theme of space. The short film is filmed at Unit 3 Regents Trading Estate, the usual area for Sounds From The Other City. Using the philosophy of avante garde pioneer Maya Deren ‘one must at least begin with the body feeling’, the films opening is of the four piece standing atop of the hill in the Pendle countryside. This quickly melts into a warped reality and lands you into the POV of a camera and trapped in a liminal space where you see a band in session.
