An Inspector Calls

An Inspector Calls is a play written by English dramatist J. B. Priestley, first performed in 1945 (in Russia) and 1946 (in the UK). It is considered to be one of Priestley's best known works for the stage and one of the classics of mid-20th century English theatre. The play's success and reputation has been boosted in recent years by a successful revival by English director Stephen Daldry for the National Theatre in 1992. This is a re-edited version of the 1982 BBC TV adaptation, originally serialised in three parts.

A Stranger's Call

Natalia Kuznetsova, a young, outwardly prosperous and successful woman artist, lives in the centre of Moscow. A plumber comes to fix a clogged sink in her bathroom, who turns out to be a man from her distant past... A retired air force colonel comes on summer vacation to the Crimea. He comes as a non-official holiday-maker, so the main problem is to find night quarters. There is a brim-full of holiday-makers here at holyday season, and for locals the main business is to rent a bunk. And if one also manages to make money on sending pears, apples, grapes, the whole winter will be supported. Thus many locals survive, others become callous, cynical cold fish, concerned only about gains. Anna Ivanovna, the flat owner, renting a bunk to the colonel, starts reminding of the latter. Looking over a photo in a hall, the colonel suddenly recognizes himself in youth with a friend, who died of consumption and who turned out to be the Annas son.

On his death bed the man who raised Joji reveals that he is not his real father and that Joji’s real parents died tragically in a plane crash. Shortly thereafter Joji goes to Japan is search of his sister and his twin brother Toru. Joji’s quickly finds his sister Chihiro who is now blind and lives with their uncle. Joji one evening accidently over hears his uncle who has ties to the criminal underworld discussing his various illegal operations. Joji ‘s eavesdropping is discovered by his uncle who offers him a chance to join the organization. Joji promptly turns his uncle’s offer down which immediately puts his life in danger.

Tulasi Dalam (Telugu: తులసిదళం, English : Basil Leaf) is a Telugu thriller novel written by Yandamuri Veerendranath. It was published in Andhra Bhoomi weekly in 1980 as a serial and got tremendous popularity. It was republished many times as a paperback and sold approximately 50,000 copies. It was one of the initial novels of Yandamuri that became popular and he was appreciated widely for his narrating style. It was partially inspired by the 1971 bestselling novel The Exorcist. Tulasi Dalam was first adapted into a 1985 Kannada movie titled Thulasidala and later in Telugu as Tulasidalam (1989),in Hindi as Phoonk (2008) and its remake in Telugu as Raksha (2008).In 1986, a story based on this novel called Kashmora was filmed for which Yendamuri Verendranath has worked as writer.

Jagmohan, a prominent businessman with underworld dealings, approaches renowned advocate Kailash Nath, to represent his son who has been charged with murder and may face the death penalty. Kailash refuses to do so, and Jagmohan's son is hanged. Angered, Jagmohan kills Kailash's wife, Laxmi and child in front of him, and escapes. He is eventually arrested and brought to trial, but is found not guilty. Kailash decides to avenge this on his own, but Jagmohan has left the country. On his arrival back, Kailash carries out his vendetta against him, and Jagmohan is charged with killing a man, arrested, found guilty, and sentenced to die. Thus Kailash carries out his vengeance against Jagmohan. Now Kailash is faced with advocate Ajay Verma, who has molested his sister, Shilpa. Happy Weekend

To save an old hotel in Tyrol from demolition, three lively girls and their friends come up with the idea of converting it into a disco. However, the conservative mayor forbids such an "immoral noise hall" in his town. With unusual ideas and the use of "feminine" arguments, the young people try to convince the mayor and police chief to allow such an establishment. A gang of rockers and two sheikhs with their harem, who are searching for new oil wells, also cause quite a stir in the sleepy little town.
