Inspired by Homer's Odyssey, the film creates a queer reinterpretation of the nymph Calypso who traps Odysseus on her island. This intimate and sensuous rendition unveils the characters' emotional states through subtle gestures and contemplative portraits, delving into feelings of love, longing and abandonment. "Alienated by the outside world, Calypso (Jamieson Edson) and Odysseus (Cameron Stetz) lay naked in bed allowing their bodies to be warmed up by the light of day, and the realness of touch. Penelope (Quagliata) denudes herself behind and in front of the camera. Rubinéia, on the border between São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Minas Gerais, during the military dictatorship. Aparecido Galdino Jacintho is the religious leader known as the “prophet of the waters.” In 1970, he prayed with his followers as they waited for the National Army, which would join the Army of the Divine Force and leave for Mato Grosso do Sul with the aim of healing, practicing justice and brotherhood, preaching peace, and preventing the construction of the Ilha Solteira hydroelectric plant, which would expel the entire local population. The faithful were repressed by the military forces, who arrested Aparecido and took him to São Paulo. There he was placed in the care of Sérgio Paranhos Fleury, one of the most famous torturers of the period.
