Mémoire entre deux rives

This documentary follows the traces of the French colonization of the country Lobi. In this region of southwestern Burkina Faso, there is not a village, not a family that does not remember the suffering brought by the colonizers. Confronted with the archival documents of the administrators, the oral tradition, through its numerous testimonies, allows us to trace back nearly a century of history, from the arrival of the first Whites until today. This word also testifies to the individual, social or religious consequences of this often painful history. Between the past and the present, between the living words and the writings of the colonists, "Mémoire entre deux rives" is as much a quest for Lobi identity as a reflection on "civilising" France.

Music Memories: Yvonne Loriod-Messiaen

"The 'Musique Mémoires' collection was born from a heritage archiving campaign, intended to collect the testimony of composers, performers, conductors, and personalities from the world of music whose creations and actions have marked the musical life of the last sixty years. The aim of these lengthy interviews is to explore as fully as possible the musical journey of each artist: origins, training, influences, encounters, practice of the profession... Thus, a unique reference collection has been created, an invitation to revisit contemporary musical memory." (ina.fr)

ENTREE DES ARTISTES (L')

This documentary, shot during the 2002-2003 school year, takes us to Harnes, in the former mineral field in the Pas-de-Calais region. In November, the start of the new school year already seems like a long time ago. The grey sky has replaced the blue and green of the summer. However, for the pupils of the primary and secondary schools, dullness is not on the agenda! Artists have come in town. They go into the classrooms with colours, stories and rhythms coming from somewhere else in their luggage. Things that can fill out the imagination, things that make anyone dream. We go with them, and on the way, we talk to them. We meet teachers and parents who are delighted to give free rein to the dream part that lies dormant in everyone of us. Image

The Devil's Water

In Bangladesh, 49 million people are currently contaminated by arsenic contained in the water they consume daily. Not properly informed, abandoned and rejected, these people die in their villages in a total lack of concern. Through the personal accounts of Asma and Najma, two young contaminated girls, and Jamal, a scientist fighting against the contamination, this film hopes to contribute to the information being sent to these populations and the preservation of the future of our country, the Earth. For other areas could be threatened by the same problem in the future.

Precariat Women

This sensitive and clear-eyed documentary accompanies five women at the edge of the labor market as they grapple with the compounded pressures of gender inequality and economic insecurity. Their unending work mopping, cutting, cleaning, folding, cooking, sorting, and calculating highlights the overlap of first, second, and third shifts for women, and situates the diffuse transformation of proletariat into precariat at the level of daily life. One of the key works by journalist and engaged documentarian Marcel Trillat. Although he passed away in 2020, his kindness, warmth, and generosity will not be forgotten.

Hybride

The alarm rings. It’s time. What time ? Time to fuck! And if the woman is emacipating herself by sleeping with another woman it’s the moment for the husband to discover them together. From here the film is metric, which is to say that all the shots are constituted from 9 images or their multiples. The film is named ‘Hybrid’ because different shots from different films tell the same story, that of the man who fucks the woman who fucks the man. All in all of the man who fucks the man.

Kokonor

For centuries, Tibetan nomads were the only inhabitants on the banks of the sacred Lake Kokonor—the Blue Lake—in Amdo (eastern Tibet). Starting in the 1990s, the area saw a dramatic rise in domestic tourism: It was not just the lake’s beauty that drew tourists but the Tibetan culture in general. This influx of tourists came at a cost: the locals now find themselves having to adapt to new roles in the tourism industry. This glimpse at the Kokonor community examines the transformation of the lives of the Tibetans who live there.
