Du PACS à la PMA, trente ans de combats pour l’égalité des droits

In 1999, the law on the Pacs is voted, allowing homosexuals to become a couple. In 2013, the law on Marriage for All is voted in turn, allowing access to marriage and parenthood for homosexual couples. In 2021, the law on PMA for all, so that homosexual women are no longer discriminated against in access to maternity, is still being debated while deputies and senators are opposed on many articles of the text. More than twenty years separate these three laws, the fruit of three decades of struggle by activists and associations, women and men politicians. From the ravages of AIDS, the first motor of these struggles, to the agitated parliamentary debates around the Pacs, through the demonstrations of the Manif pour tous, this documentary, illustrated with archival images, gives the floor to the actors to retrace the stages, sometimes forgotten, of this history.

Alba Meloni. Stella nelle mie stanze

An apartment on the Tiber riverfront, in the center of Rome. The director lives here, where Stella lived until her death. Stella is the nom de guerre of Alba Meloni, a partisan courier who, at a very young age, joined the Resistance in the capital. After Liberation, she became an official of the Italian Communist Party and spent the last 30 years of her life in the Testaccio neighborhood, where she is still a very popular figure. The director follows in her footsteps, talking to her, collecting her memories, capturing fragments of her daily life and experiences: at home, in the neighborhood, and on the streets of Rome, where the girl once carried weapons in a straw bag and planted nails on the roads to stop German trucks. It is a journey through time and the city, during which Alba/Stella's individual story intertwines with our collective history.

Lost in Face

Carlotta cannot recognize faces, not even her own. For her, human faces are no bastion of trust, but places of fear and confusion. She is one of the 1% of all people whose part of the brain responsible for facial recognition does not work properly. With his film LOST IN FACE, neuroscientist Valentin Riedl travels through Carlotta's universe, full of anthropomorphic animals, lucid dreams and bumpy false paths. He peels back her charming, idiosyncratic solutions that she employs to be able to join the masses of human conformity, until she one day decides to build a ship and leave her fellow humans. Her never-ending search for answers leads her to art-and thus an avenue to her own face and back to humanity.
