Die Schaltgetriebenen

Stefan has been building his own road-legal racing car for 12 years. Every Friday after work, he drives to his parents' house in Brandenburg to continue working on it in the garage. For him, this car is far more than just a vehicle, but his life's work and obsession. For him, there will never be an end to this work, because he is always trying to improve, optimize and prove that he can push the limits of what is technically possible one step further. David is also looking for a borderline experience. For him, this lies in the thrill of speed and vehicle control. When his rear axle breaks out at 100 km/h on a forest road, he feels alive. He uses the car to test his own limits. He accepts the risks involved. Die Schaltgetriebenen is a film about the power of passion, about the search for meaning and the urge to prove oneself.

Lena Fauch - Gefährliches Schweigen

The quiet place in the gallery of the church in Iffeldorf, where Lena Fauch occasionally found refuge and listened to the organist practise, is a place she will not see again for a long time. She accepts the offer from Detective Superintendent Kuda and becomes a police chaplain in Munich. Her first assignment confronts her with the criminal investigator Gregor Hoffmann. Hoffmann, who was assaulted during an arrest, is supposed to work through his misconduct with Lena Fauch. Hoffmann is unapproachable and rude. The encounters with him are provocative and disturbing. Chief Inspector Christian Fenn behaves quite differently. He is a self-confessed Christian and is delighted to have Lena as support in what he calls the "fight against Sodom and Gomorrah". Fenn is firmly convinced that he is one of the good guys.

Schick, aber schädlich

The documentation „Schick aber Schädlich“ follows the traces of pollutants that are found repeatedly in our shoes and clothes. From head to toe, we are surrounded by toxic substances. The reasons lie in the global trade and a fashion world that defies government control. Everything beautiful, especially black leather and black clothes take a lot of chemicals so that it sits well and still looks favorable. Therefore, the textile industry migrated to Bangladesh from now. The textile industry calls for their victims. In the tanneries in Dhaka, the workers die from the poison. Organic textiles are also not free of toxic dyes. The only way out: natural fabrics.

Germany's Wild Wolves - As They Really Are

Wolves – some see in them predatory beasts, others romanticize them as mythical creatures. But does their fabled competitive hierarchy also exist in the wild? Over a period of three years, our filmmaker obtained unique footage of a family of wild wolves as has never been seen before in Europe. This is the first documentary about wild wolves in Germany shot exclusively in the wild; it shows how similar the social structures of humans and wolves are and dispels myths about a fascinating wild animal.

Eingebildete Männlichkeit

In this video installation Philipp Gufler grapples with different images and ideas of masculinity that art has produced over centuries: from vomiting, well-endowed Greeks, to the vain Narcissus, towards Andy Warhol’s gun shooting Elvis Presley. The selected images are printed on Lucent fabrics and behind those the artist coquets with masculine and feminine poses: smoking, applying makeup, knotting a tie etc. The reference to the painting “Pygmalion and Galathea” by Jean-Léon Gérôme can be regarded as the ironic highpoint concerning the gender debate: The ancient legend of the gifted sculptor Pygmalion, who, in the spirit of the Male Gaze, carves his perfect woman out of stone, is a perfect metaphor for the creation of a completely artificial femininity, as it is alsoembodied by transvestites. The prefix trans- is thereby symptomatic for the whole staging of the film: the projections and the artist seem to permeate and superimpose each other constantly.
