The short video loop starts with a blank page. White. No orientation, scale, dimension. Until the edge of the frame is broken. From an aerial viewpoint we see a dark horse being led into what now reveals itself as a blank snowy landscape. Walking in a circle, it inscribes a trail of footprints into the snow, creating a kind of drawing.

The character, a feathered young woman, is watching TV at her place in the wood. Because of seeing some trapped birds entangled in nets, she leaves and, after being through a wood that could crush her with its trees, gets where the nets impede the bird's free passage. Finally, she arrives at a skating ring where she wears her roller skates and starts to jump and spin. Someone makes her fallen but she stands up and takes up again her skating: she takes a run-up and makes her last spinning while the birds return to freedom.

Considering that it is impossible to describe a thing as we remember it or as it is brought back to us in the present by images, what is going to be created will necessarily be another thing, a thing which will be similar to a vision or a dream. Maybe it is birth, or fall, the first big moment of transition- and so, of clash, which we are called to. Coming to light, rising, happening, coming to be. At that moment, all the sounds and the images of the people who are close to us, or of the ones who are far and have weaved their passing by with ours unify. Everything is already there at that transitioning moment. What will come of our life will be that composite knot of sounds and images that will unfold until the dissolution.

"MS, Mexico and Me: Aileen's Story" is a health-issue documentary showing one woman's journey from her home in the Isle of Lewis in Scotland all the way to Mexico to get stem cell treatment for her Multiple Sclerosis. It explores Aileen Hunt's life, her illness and working life and the effects that her MS has on her, her family and particularly her husband Simon. It shows their journey together to Mexico to get treatment which will hopefully halt the progression of this illness in it's current state. Raising awareness of this disease and its treatment is a fundamental goal which I wish to achieve with this documentary.
