The Holographic Universe Theory Of Art History

The Holographic Universe Theory of Art History (THUTOAH), investigates the holographic principle and the theory that our universe could be understood as a vast and complex hologram, and hypothesises that, beyond acknowledged art historical contexts and imperatives, artists may have also been unconsciously attempting to describe the holographic nature of the universe. Projecting over 25,000 chronological images from art history (from cave painting to global contemporary art, including outsider and psychedelic art), THUTOAH echoes conceptually the actions of CERN's particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), accelerating at 25 images per second in a looped sequence. Alongside this colossal library of images is a soundtrack of interviews with scientists at CERN about the holographic principle and my Holographic Universe Theory of Art History.

Die Seele der Geige

How can we describe the intimate connection between an instrument and its player? How can a piece of wood become "the love of my life", as Frank Peter Zimmermann calls his 1711 Stradivarius "Lady Inchiquin"? The instrument, worth 6 million Euros, was locked away in a safe for more than two years - due to bankruptcy of its lender, a German bank. This documentary follows the world renowned violinist as he reunites with his beloved violin. Zimmermann's story is intertwined with another master's search for perfection. We look behind the scenes and witness the creation of a contemporary violin by the "21st Century Stradivari", Martin Schleske.

The Interrogation

In America, nearly 30% of those exonerated by DNA tests had previously confessed. For more than half a century, the Reid technique was the favored method of extracting confessions out of suspects. This method of slowly building pressure often made it seem that admitting guilt was the easiest way out. But now, a number of police forces are abandoning the Reid technique because of the risk of generating false confessions. We hear from the men and women who have spent more than 20 years in prison for crimes they did not commit. They tell us about that moment when, in the darkness of the interrogation room, cut off from the world and terrified by police officers, they finally said what the interrogators wanted to hear…the moment their lives changed forever.

Der Wildheuer

It was a Sunday in July 2016, a dark day for Sepp Gisler. The 62-year-old mountain farmer from Uri fell 300 meters to his death while haymaking game on a steep slope on the Rophaien. The father of six was an experienced game hunter and knew the dangers of this tough work. But a residual risk remains, especially when working almost vertically. After his father's death, Julia, the youngest daughter, took over the mountain farm on the Oberaxen. And she too will have to climb back into the "Wildi", because there is no other way. The valuable hay from the Planggen is the fodder basis for the small farm high above Lake Uri.
