72 Trees

This is a story about a transaction. Two ‘underemployed hipsters’ take on a challenge set by ‘the richest living artist’: visit all eleven galleries around the world showing his spot paintings while the exhibition is on, and win a print made by his assistants and signed by him. The two figured out a way to do the trip for less than what they would eventually be able sell the print for, and turn a profit, or at least break even…if they manage to make it. 72 Trees explores the absurdity of markets, the people they meet on their journey and the aftermath.

The Devil Had Other Plans (Act II)

A gut reaction to the Coronavirus apocalypse, made in the first months of isolation and confusion in March-June 2020, echoing the shocking, eerie and surreal experience of the pandemic. Reworking the classic Zombie public-domain film from 1968 'Night of the Living Dead' by AI colorization, video processing, re-cutting and sound work. The attack of the outside and tensions within the inside were found in the horror film images, broken apart and reassembled to become a haunting kaleidoscopic nightmare. A post-horror series of three acts. This is Act II - Turmoil.

30 Jahre, aber den Sinn des Lebens habe ich immer noch nicht rausgefunden

On his 24th birthday, the private documentary filmmaker Jan Peters snapped his Super 8 camera and captured his still young life for a brief moment. Three minutes in which he looks into the camera and reports on his split between aspiring filmmaker and self-doubt. Then, abruptly - cut - because the film roll of the camera does not allow a longer shot. It is the beginning of an autobiographical experiment that, in its elliptical narrative form, creates its own condensate of life. 29 more birthday films follow: self-monologues in the bathtub, wild dance performances and discussions about the development of the technical film apparatus. Meanwhile, film professor at the Kassel Art College, Peters tells episodic stories of his childhood, love, 'having arrived' as a father and a birthday invitation to Jean-Luc Godard.

Porque Todas Las Quiero Cantar: Un Homenaje a la Canción Rochense

The singer and songwriter Florencia Núñez is from Rocha, a coastal department in southeastern Uruguay. Her first compositions took place at her parents' house, in the classes she shared with the composer Enrique Cabrera, or on the shores of the ocean when she spent the summer in Costa Azul, her usual beach town. Today, she lives in Montevideo, she listens to her songs and wonders: what is the origin of all these melodies? This film is her desire to relive that music that made her grow. A tribute to the music of her department through the reinterpretation of five songs that marked her songbook. With that map in mind, Florencia goes out in search of answers in conversations with authors, interpreters or actors from the Rochense scene who were witnesses or protagonists of the construction of the local folk. A journey through the essence of a department that traces a route between melodies and landscapes, poetry and culture, and voices and roots.

À nos corps défendants

A sensitive and radical approach to the psychological and physical violence inflicted on the inhabitants of working-class neighborhoods by the police. The stories take place in the France of the last twenty years, that of the post-Sarkozy, and are reported by the first concerned: no sociologist, no historian, no journalists or storytelling. Just the word of those we would like to see silent: Wassil Kraiker and his parents Zohra and Abdelaziz, young people from Argenteuil, Amine Mansouri and his father Moustapha, Ali Alexis and his wife, Ramata Dieng and Farid El Yamni...

LIMBO, the forgotten promise

It can be said that Western Sahara is a limbo: it is the largest territory on the planet still to be decolonised, currently under Moroccan occupation since 1975 and waiting endlessly for its self-determination. In this film we will learn about the history of the oppression and resistance of the Sahrawi people, but also about its beauty and richness from the visual poetry, the sounds that evoke the Sahara and the inter-generational story of the protagonists in this history. A project promoted by the Andalusian organisations Nomadocs and Sahara Acción Granada that aims to make a forgotten and silenced testimony visible.
