He lives with his sister and his father, a man who grew up following traditions and whose hopes for the future are placed in the farmhouse where he lives. At the end of every summer, the elderly of the community subject the working-age boys to a rite of passage to determine their maturity and suitability to the adult world. Now it is Pietro’s turn to take part to the rite.
La Fundacion 26 de Diciembre is both a community center and living space. The purpose of the foundation is care and housing support for older LGBT people in Madrid. The foundation opened its doors in February 2014. La Fundacion brings personal and collective stories together by creating a platform that gives a voice to previously invisible representations of aging, care and activism. This community proactively creates new solutions for the challenges it faces.
