The old man can no longer make good shoes and they have fallen upon hard times until, one night, the dog hears noise in the workshop. He finds a band of merry elves making a beautiful pair of shoes. No Strangers Here

No Strangers Here is a fictionalised account of a family of "new Australians" arriving in their new home town. The family (mum, dad, girl and boy) are displaced persons from Northern and Eastern Europe. Produced for the Department of Immigration during the migrant boom that followed World War Two, the film's essential message is "We want them. We need them". It presents an idealised Australia, "a happy, smiling land" where people are generally friendly and accepting despite some xenophobia, and echoes the government policies of decentralisation and assimilation.

Paris Flash

A short film by Albert Champeaux. "First animated short film from Champeaux studios produced in 1958. Satire of visit to Paris by a group of tourists and a provincial. A short film widely distributed in the cinema, winning a large number of awards in festivals. It is the first collaboration of A. Champeaux with the chansonnier Jacques Baudoin, who provides commentary on the film. A very modern creation in drawing and realization even today. A beautiful portrait of Paris from the 50s and 60s." - https://youtu.be/BVIa6Pw3POs
